"presenting the chord' is a great takeaway from this.. Thanks Ryan! Strong as usual!🤘

Ryan you’re definitely one of the best bass teachers I’ve seen on KZbin, the lesson for How Sweet Is by Marvin Gaye is a smooth introduction into chord progressions and theory, an absolutely amazing teaching video! Thank you❤

Ryan, I can't express enough how grateful I am for each of your lessons and for sharing your knowledge here. Sometimes, when you start playing the intros, it creates self-doubt in me about whether I can play them too. But when you break it down and I learn it, I feel incredibly happy. You're an amazing teacher!

I recently purchased a Squire Classic Vibe 1950s P Bass, and I love it! I was a Squire snob, too, but I've seen so many good reviews of the Classic Vibe series I decided to give it a try. Glad I did. Setp was fine right out of the box and it's such a comfortable bass

I recently discovered your channel (NOT via the Algorithm, surprisingly, but from a friend) and I am struck by 2 things: 1. Your fretting hand looks so relaxed, and 2. You don't use 1 finger per fret (and therefore shift your hand a lot). I need both these skills. Perhaps you can give us a video on this topic? I have been playing for 8 years and learned everything I know from KZbin bass teachers. 1 finger per fret is the standard, as is playing in "position" with minimal shifting. It's been great for me in that I could assign notes to specific fingers ("set it and forget it"), and not worry about missing a note if I mis-shift. But the hand stretch leaves me achy, and I think shifting your hand adds a mental flexibility that I lack.

I'll definitely do a video on different fretting hand techniques! Long story short, the Four Fret Span is great, very valuable, and definitely the way to play *certain things.* Not everything is best played that way, so using a different approach is often better for musicality and hand health.

What is the diffrence between this and the James Taylor version?
@RyanMadoraMusic6 ай бұрын
There are plenty of differences... the James Taylor version has different chord changes, is in a different key, has a different feel/bass line... lots of things!

Interesting that its a 1625 on the F of the chorus ... But really a sus on G for two bars.... harder to hear the bass in the non live version... one of my fav music youtube guys does this one Tony Winston... ooh Jr walker and the all stars nice version
