Paaji with this video you hit the ball ,just out of the park(though i know you are a football lover ).This is like a book on the art of reading a balance sheet, how simply you teach all these complex topic, my respect to you and SOIC is increasing sunday after sunday.How hard you guys work to make complex things so simple so that a layman investor like me can understand basics of investing easily.Earlier i thought that investing is for CAs or CFAs ,but then SOIC came in my life and it change my perspective and increase my knowledge base.Paaji agar apke jaise teacher mil jaye to m kisi bhi subject m easily top kar sakta hu.Paaji i have so much respect for you and thank you team SOIC , specially those who work behind the camera.🙏 This video is one of my favourite- simple language+knowledge packed session.👏

Excellent as always !! Sir I have one fundamental doubt. For most of the balance sheets, even for big companies, the share capital is in two digits. Does it mean their IPO size was so small ? Even when company raises say 500Cr via QIP, I don't see its share capital rises by that much amount. Please help me understand this.
@SOICfinance2 ай бұрын
Hi The small numbers you see as share capital on a balance sheet don’t represent the total money a company has raised. They only show the base value of the shares issued, which is usually very low. When a company raises a large amount of money through an IPO or QIP, most of that money is above this base value and is recorded separately. So, even if a company raises a lot of money, the share capital figure doesn’t increase by that full amount.

Thank you for yet another superb video SOIC team. I have one question at 23:57. The QIP done by the company was around 2000 crores, however the equity capital during that time increased by only 1 crore. Does an increment of only 1 crore hold any significance?

Face value increase will always be lesser Bulk of the premium over the FV goes into securities premium. example:- 1lakh new shares are issued Face Value is = Rs 1 Share capital will increase by 1 lakh rupees But shares are issued at 1000 Securities premium will be= 1000-1= Rs999 per share Secruities premium which is a part of reserves= Rs999*1,00,000=This amount will get added to reserves. Sharecapital increase only gives us an idea of bonus/splits or further capital dilutions
