Dang!! I'm 61 and have been playing guitar for 46 years!! NEVER bothered taking the time to learn TAB!! Had I only known!! I recently watched "RIPLEY" on Netflix and wanted to try the amzing Italian guitar they do. I came across "Italian Guitar Lessons" and he was using TAB! Next step, how do I play tab?? Hey Be Yourself, I hope I get enough time this season to get around to teaching "When A Child Is Born" as it is a beautiful song, but I cannot guarantee that I will! (I still have to work a day job, etc, and I am the only person working on my channel right now), but what I recommend you do is learn the basic chords instead of focusing on tabs and strum along to the recording. You can generally find decent chords on websites like Ultimate Guitar, although sometimes they are not correct, so it's best to view a few and make sure it sounds right.
