Been building up a timberjack as a dream build and this video has helped loads. its the only source of info i could find online on the setup of the alternator dropouts which have been giving me a few head scratching problems.

Hello, great video, I got the salsa TJ Slx 27.5+ and am looking at changing the fork and going to 29s... would this need to be adjusted to allow the 29inch tire to fit the frame ?

The 29" tire should fit without any issues, as the bike was designed to accommodate either size. Thanks for watching and asking your question.

You'd touched on how well the bike fit (for your needs at least), I was curious what's your height and what size frame you're riding?

Great question Ross, and thank you for asking. I am 5'11' with an even torso to leg ratio. I typically ride a large frame on the mountain bikes and a 56cm on the road side of things with very few exceptions. I've had the Timberjack for almost a year. Whether I am banging around on the trail or geared up for a bikepack, she has always been a comfortable ride. I hope this has been helpful for you Ross. My TJ was set up on the longer wheelbase. When I move it over to the shorter wheelbase, do I need to remove a link or 2 out of the chain?

Are these 2.0 dropouts compatible with 2017 Timberjack to convert to a tru axel? Do you still have these in stock for $15? Great video BTW and funny AF🤣

Unfortunately, I was not able to find information on a through axle conversion for the 2017 Timberjack. Though, that is a great usage idea for that drop out.
