Back in the 70s, my brother and I were extremely proficient with the wrist rockets. We use to ride in the back of our dad's pickup truck down country backroads and hit cans and bottles in the road ditches with an extremely high hit percentage. This was with tubes and yard rocks. I just picked up a band model and am loving it. Wish I had it years ago. I realized pretty quick that i need to build a few traps because 3/8" steel is my preferred ammo now. I tried the sighting methods but instinctive just works for me. It's all about the practice practice practice.... Great video!!!!

Good stuff , I like how you shoot instinctively with a gangster style grip , as I can only shoot instinctively upright, Its surprisingly easy to hit moving targets instinctively when aiming would be a sure miss ,,,,,,keep up the good work mate.
@ChuckinSteel
@ChuckinSteel 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks brother 👊 your 100% correct about moving target's. It's kind crazy bc you feel the shot b4 you release and know if it's a hit or miss. I know, I'm like the black sheep when it comes to Instinctive shooting because I hold sideways. Most people do hold up right. Thanks again brother 🙏👊🇺🇸🇬🇧💪

Thanks Brother K. It does and thats why I wish they would offer this in tournaments. You know do 10m, 20m, and woods course aimed. Then do them or atleast 1 of them instinctive. We need to keep the old school way of shooting alive. I think rhe rules of it would be simple really, release with in 1 sec of your draw. I don't know why anyone hasn't thought of this. I mean they have speed shooting but it's not the same bc that has more to do with loading the pouch and things quickly. Anyway If someone does put it in a tournament, you heard it here first. 😆 🤣

Truth! Im new 6 months shooting. Im trying to shoot at least 50 ball a day. Ive narrowed down my flaws and worked on stance release and aiming. Last week I started doing 10 balls fast....just pull and shoot. Truly helps. I shoot paper targets so I can see my flaws and adjust. I have 80% of my shots within a 4 inch circle now and nailing half inch bullseyes 1/4 shots. Im figuring by summer and 2k more practice rounds Ill be a bit better. Shooting the Scout and 9. 5 balls. Thanks bub. You are all inspirational for the new shooter. 🤘Brad

I had a good time shooting a marksmen wrist rocket slingshot with dollar store marbles them cat eyes 100 for a dollar at with that blue and yellow swirl in the marble shooting at old glass beer bottles sat on top of a old rusty farm tractor way back when I was a teenager. The Marksman was my slingshot growing up it was 6 dollars at wal mart and the sports authority, And sadly the marksman 3/8 steel ammo was 3.99$ for 75 count it was a rip off so we used dollar store cheap playing marbles worked great I would save a only shoot the 3/8 steel for hunting and use marbles in the mix. That slingshot brought me so much joy growing up I wish now that simpleshot had been around back then with their flat band slingshots back then or any type of production flat band shooter they really work so much better for accuracy and more power.

@ChuckinSteel 2 жыл бұрын
That's awesome Brother and so true. I never did understand why the ammo was and still is so expensive from. Daisy. I can get 1000 for 20$ but they charge 5$ for 100 or something like that. My first slingshot was a natural Walnut fork with cut bicycle tubes for bands. Then later got a wrist rocket.

While you may not purposely use the slingshot as an aiming device/point, you do use it as a reference point subconsciously when shooting instinctively. Same as in archery where one cannot but help to see the arrow on the shelf out of your peripheral vision but we try and ignore it and, instead, concentrate on the target! For proof, try shooting archery or catapults in complete darkness with just the target lit up. Hits are nearly impossible. Though I've read where Japanese archers of old practices such to vastly improved their instinctive aiming.

Thanks brother 👊. I think we all probably did that. I think it's how people should learn. The down side is when people start aiming they forget about shooting instinctive. I hunt rabbit this way bc I normally walk and kick them up. If their sitting still ill aim but they are running more often then not.

@@northeastslingshot1664 ok if you can find it on sale the TOPS Viper Scout, it will run about 100$. It's my most carried knife out of all my knives but if you can save about 40 more $ the TOPS Camp Creek is my all time favorite and it is in s35vn steel. They also make the Idaho hunter which is good. Under 100$ the Joker Nessmuk, it normally runs about 80$ on Amazon. They have different versions but the one that's just the knife and sheath is about 80$. It's a winner for sure.
