I am losing my hearing and I have heard that deaf instruction is the best. I disagree. It helps me to understand you and what it stems from as to how to sign. I have been able to even clean and use my earphones and then not watch after learning the first time from you and I remember the motion after I rewatch. Thank you.

Wow. Damn... Why not you all non-native non-Deaf people just take over the ASL teaching industry. Who cares about the Deaf, native signers who invented and relies on sign language? Give them a boot! You know "Easy learn, easy forget" is something I always tell my ASL students.

ive been watching your videos like mad to learn ASL. my family is moving to ontario, and i found out that ASL is also used in canada. strangely, ASL is sticking with me better than all my other attempts to learn a language other than english lol. your videos are amazing!

Oh my gosh, your tip about the 2 fingers + the number was just what I needed. My online ASL teacher is generally great, but doesn’t give as many of these tips to remember as you do, and I was having difficulty keeping up when he was counting the 20s. Thank you!!

I love this video so much. First off, I love the little girl in it because I feel like I'm her learning this. Whoa! I just learned how to sign from 1 to 999 million in just 10 minutes, way easier to learn then other normal language's number's. One question though, how do you sign 1 billion?

When signing numbers, do you only have your palm turned inward for single-digits 1-5? For the rest of the numbers your palm was facing out. Loved the video!

These videos are amazing and super helpful! I've been getting bursts of motivation to learn ASL since I was maybe 6 ish but any course or site I've found hasn't kept my interest for long. I don’t think I’ll ever get the full gist sign language, but I am trying. I just hope that if ever I am signing to someone I don’t offend them if I do something wrong. I have practiced saying I am learning ASL I am slow at reading signs.

Great video! On a side note, ASL seems very intuitive to me, except for when it comes to numbers. It feels like there's no set structure but instead just individual signs for each number. 😔

Great question! The 1 face out. 1-5 faces you only when signed by itself. For example: "ME HAVE 1 DOG" This is signed with the 1 facing to you.

Awesome question.....this one really relies on context clues of the sentence. Think of homonyms in English like bat the animal vs bat for baseball. They sound the same but means something different. Again and thousand are signed almost identically so it could be the English equivalent of a homonym.

Pacing is good. Repetition of the signs is good. Mnemonics are appreciated. But if I hear the phase "can you do...?" again I'm going to lose my mind, and had to give up halfway through. Maybe after the first couple times the really repetitive phrase could have been edited out?

Great question. If you fingerspell or sign something incorrectly you will just do a slight wave with your hand while shaking your head. Then start again from the beginning of the word or phrase you messed up on. Hope this helps.

Count is the non-dominate hand with a flat palm facing up and dominate F hand moving from palm to finger tips. Hope this helps.
