I really Can't begin to thank you enough. I have been stuck on the same old stuff since I was thirteen Same Pentatonic scales and I tried to come up with riffs and I just wasn't coming up with anything good. Now You have taught me How to solo along the fretboard which I have been trying to do for such a long time. But No one taught me. Since I am A Self taught Guitarist I struggle alot and pick up bad habits. I took lessons for 2 months but then I couldn't afford them. Can't thank you enough!

Hi David, just really want to thank you so much for these lessons and exercises to strengthen my fingers. Always been self taught and tried to get lessons but had no satisfaction and wasn't given any exercises and felt like I was doing guitar karaoke but your explanations etc are so worth the while. I hit a brick wall and stayed there for so long and now I can feel the improvements already and it really has reignited that love and passion I have for this beautiful instrument. Thanks so much.

Dude you ROCK!! Just by watching your video with my guitar in my hands I made a major breakthrough in my improvisation skills. I was stuck on the "block pentatonic" level and wasn't really understanding how to "fuse" different scales. Maybe I won't need to hire a teacher after all! Looking forward for whatever I can get from your website. Thanks!
@iczerx0111 жыл бұрын
I have been stuck in a rut lately, playing the same am pentatonic extended scale over backing tracks and not being able to break out and actually make it sound more like music than a scale progression. Your videos have opened my eyes to some plainly obvious things that I never thought about.

Hi, the PRS I use in this lesson is a USA made CE or classic electric model that I bought new in 1995 I believe. Its an awesome guitar and the craftsmanship on their guitars is outstanding. I own a second PRS and it is just as nice. I don't believe this is a 10 top guitar, I don't think they even had that open back when I bought it - but it is killer and has good tonal variety from the pickups - highly recommended - only negative feature is their line is expensive - keep on rocking! -David T

Yeah, I hear you. I didn't mean that I would jump right in to these types of solos, I'm just saying that I understand more about the guitar and notes / keys etc. And this is not the only video I've been checking out from you guys :-) It's a Harley Benton HB-10G, 1x 5,5" speaker, 10 watt with an override switch, 8W RMS 4 Ohm. As I said, nothing fancy.. just enough to hear myself play and since I live in an appartment it'll do just fine =)

This was a really great lesson for me as I have been doing a lot of rythmic work but not so much in the way of lead or soloing. I love this video as it has helped me really expand what I was working on before and is really a great bit of fun to just mess around with. Didn't think it would sound so hot with heavy distortion and reverb but I was very very happily mistaken! Thanks again for a great lesson!

hey, man, great lesson!!! I've been playing on and off for about 5 years now and I've been self teaching myself. However, I don't do very well when it comes to soloing in key. I know the blues scales and I fool around in those patterns, but Idk how to use those notes in that scale on other parts of the neck, while staying in key. Do you have any tips for that? I'm trying to become a better player but I get too impatient.

If you know all the shapes for A minor just move everything up a whole step and you will be in B minor. Don't let key throw you - you are just shifting all the intervals or boxes or scales, (whichever works best for how you see the neck), up or down the guitar neck - easy! Enjoy -David T

The options for lead are endless! Just to verify so say we start on 7th fret B note and play the basic home position scale then second position and so on would just go down the neck? And when you get to say the 19th fret and there's no room left for the scale then you begin back with open strings then 1st feet and so on? Thanks and rock on

It's a Harley Benton ST-20 BK Standard Series, low budget stuff. But I've had some practice and I'm starting to get a feel to it, so it was definitly worth the money and it doesn't feel that cheap really.. And yes of course, I'm totally aware of the advancing-technique and what not, I wouldn't be stupid enough to jump right at a Kirk Hammet solo cause then I wouldn't learn anything. I'm keeping my cool and learning all chords and learn the strings and everything first
