For people playing on controller (I have slide set to r3) i found u can hit ur wall bounces way more frequently if you make sure u jump and then release the right stick forward its seems to keep the climb the wall command in que so that u don't have to worry about just slamming ur face into it and going nowhere as for jump timing i dont really have anything aside from like he said spam ur jump button on the wall as soon as u make contact but again keep in mind to never take ur thumb off of the right stick going forward until after u see yourself starting to jump hope that helps

Im good at wall bouncing but i just don't implement it in gun fights as much as i should, really gotta practice that, but that's hard to practice with the dummies. Idk it's easiet to habe crouch on hold on console.

Use a negative redirect (using w instead of s as a redirect) when hitting the wall and then trying to get on it without the climbing animation.

On the second jump, the one propelling you off the wall, you don't mention what inputs you're using. Do you release the forward movement key and jump again, is the forward movement key static or simultaneously with the second jump, do you input the desired direction. I'm learning and your videos help, just need a bit of clarity. Thanks!

Old comment so you might know, but for clarification, release all movement inputs as soon as your character model collides with the wall, then when your character model "sticks" to the wall, press your jump input and you'll bounce off. Play with the angles at which you look at the wall throughout the motion, (looking from a 45° angle as you approach, turning into a 90° angle as you collide with the wall for instance), and try your strafing inputs after your model jumps away from the wall to understand the feeling of the mechanic better.

You do yeah, good point. Went into the test range and legit just did it to make sure type this out right. I actually press no buttons when wall bouncing outside the jump. UNLESS I want to redirect movement a certain way. But good call!

Great video but I still maintain wall bounces are the most niche thing to learn while also being difficult to get the hang of. I think their most useful use is to get over walls more quickly and skipping the climb animation... otherwise it typically feels more like you are using it for style points than to gain an advantage and it can even make you play suboptimally aka overthinking your movement.

I agree initially, but once you incorporate it naturally into your gameplay of trying to get away, dodge, and move around. It does make a big difference. The reason it feels so niche is because of its application and timing of it. I remember using it and trying it at all the wrong moments. But once it’s added at the right moments it becomes noticeable!

No, you are doing the right thing. Pressing W will cause your character to climb the wall

Any tips on how to wall bounce shorter objects? I can wall bounce any tall wall 10 out of 10 times but a short object my character just gets caught on it and doesn’t bounce off

Pull back on ur left stick after your slide jump and make contact w the object in the opisite direction in the direction you wanna go

was wondering why i couldn't do it at all. toggle crouch is awful, if you hold crouch you can't climb, meaning you can't wall hop, i dont know how you do it while toggling

It’s a timing thing, all the toggle is for is that initial jump. When you wall bounce you have no keys down pressed and are waiting for the audio cue and ready to switch directions for the bounce itself.

He's air strafing, hold the directional movement to the direction you're turning your character. So turing right hold D, turning left hold A.

im not gonna lie.. this didnt help me in the slightest.. do you push into the wall? do you let go of all inputs when you bounce? do you pull back when you bounce? you really need to be more indepth in actual inputs imo

I saw it helped a bunch of people. Sorry it did not help you :( I apologize. I have been making more adjustments on the guides. When you bounce, let go of all inputs and only press the jump input and point the direction you want to go with your mouse.

Sorry sent prior message a second to early, but edited and added more Info. If you point a direction towards a wall. Do it for a moment but right as you touch the wall remember to have no inputs and only hit jump once you hear the audio of the character hit the wall.
