My mother tongue is Italian and I must say I’m surprised that this is so well done! She speaks in a very exaggerated way of course, but it is useful at the beginning in order to understand the sounds and phrase tones clearly. I can hear that the pronunciation is foreign, but so so close to the original Standard Italian taught in schools! This is not common to native English speakers! Good work!
@lupettodinotte11 жыл бұрын
I'm a native English speaker, but I've been studying Italian for years and now I can speak it like a native speaker. Italian is easy, because is a standardized language: there's only ONE way to pronounce a word. Spoken English, on the contrary, is more a "collection of dialects" than a language. Furthermore, if you can speak Italian, you can understand the most part of Spanish and French, because these three languages are very similar.

"Io vorrei caffè" and "Io vorrei acqua" are wrong. We usually say "Io vorrei una tazza di caffè", which means "I would like a cup of coffee". You have to be specific, you can't just say "caffè". For the water we say "Io vorrei dell'acqua naturale/gassata, per favore" or "Io vorrei una bottiglia d'acqua naturale/gassata". Again, you have to be specific. She said that english people say "I would like some water" and that italians just say "acqua". WRONG! Also, in italian you don't have to say "Io" every single time. You can just start the sentence with the verb. For example "Vorrei questo piatto", "Vorrei una tazza di caffè, per favore", "vorrei una bottiglia d'acqua, per favore". Aside this, we don't pay too much attention on grammar mistakes if a tourist is speaking, I mean...we know it is wrong (obviously) but...we are very understanding! I hope you will enjoy our cities!

Hello! I loved your comments about the corrections. Excellent! You explained the missing words in the sentence and in Italians do not use (io) before verbs. Cool! Just 3 "mistakes", I think. But what about the whole video? Also WRONG? What about the time that the person spent by making the video? Also WRONG? You didn't analyze the teacher's creative trying to help other people who really want to learn Italian. I am one of these people. We can feel that she explains with enthusiasm and passion.

vorrei dell'acqua per favore = this is the only one correct. In fact the preposition "di" in Italian is also used as partitive. So the preposition "di" can be considered the equivalent of the English "some" in the phrase " I would like some water". Dear Sonia you are so cute, but you should learn Italian before teaching it.

@nikiseminara43452 жыл бұрын
Esatto!

Quello caffè is wrong, you must to say " Quel caffè " .

She never went into detail about Quel because of how it changes. Remember this is a beginner's lesson.

IO VORREI ACQUA? What??? I'm Italian and no one says that!! The right sentence is "vorrei dell'acqua"
@edonan8511 жыл бұрын
Right, "Io vorrei acqua" could be an answer to something like "volete acqua o vino?" but if one's going to tell by his own what he wants, one would definitely say "Vorrei dell'acqua". Furthermore, I knew that in English "acqua naturale" was "still water" altough she says "natural water". Is this right?
