20:56 Sanjeok: Recipe details
Ingredients:
~ (Optional) 250-300g Beef Brisket
~ Marinade: ½ tsp Pepper, 1 TBSP Soy Sauce , 1 tsp Minced Garlic, 1 TBSP
~ Sesame oil, 1 tsp Sugar
~ Ham
~ Crab Sticks
~ Vegetables of your choice:
~ (Typically) - Oyster mushrooms and Spring Onions (Courgettes, Carrots, Chives, etc can be optional)
~ 3 Eggs
~ Flour
~ Skewers (we use toothpicks to make them bitesized)
Instructions:
The key point is to make all the ingredients the same rectangular sizes.
~Cut the beef up into a set rectangular size and marinate the beef with marinade (premixed in a bowl) for at least 30mins-1hr in the fridge.
~ While marinating the beef, prepare the vegetables, ham and crabsticks by cutting them into the same shape and size.
~ Once the beef is ready, lightly grill/pan fry it so that we do not overcook the other ingredients whilst waiting for the beef to cook.
~ Thread the half-cooked beef, and raw ingredients in (2) onto the skewers. ~ ~ Alternate them according to colour!
~ Prepare a tray of flour and whisk eggs into a big bowl with 2 pinches of salt.
~ Coat each side of the skewer with flour, dusking excess away.
~ Dip (5) into the bowl of whisked eggs (let excess drop into the bowl before going on to the pan).
~ Fry (light fry)/Grill away the skewers! Fry until the colour is nice and golden.
Enjoy your delicious sanjeok with/without a little soy sauce on the side!
You can really be creative and versatile with this dish. Try adding yellow pickles (the ones in gimbap) or even cherry tomatoes for different flavours!
