The video was one of the best but you forgot a big part the different size Huber needles , the nurse was probably in but the needle was to small and got dislodged as she said the port was too deep .

I have a port it's not tor chemo for my vain it also have attached itself to the vain I'm a risk for surgery to take it out can't remember the name of the port and It seems to be out of place can't feel the needle in the neck looks as if it's in wrong had it for at least 5yrs and I'am 71yrs old been sick all of my life thank you for reading

Are all saline flushes in plastic wrappers sterile? I know some types are sterile and others are not. I’ll dump everything I need into my sterile field, but I’ll unwrap the flush and put it outside my sterile field.

Hi tade5719! No, they aren't. If they're sterile they'll say so on the outer wrapping. If you're accessing a port and keeping one hand clean and one sterile then a regular saline flush is fine. Everyone has their own way of setting up their field :) Danielle

I did have a new nurse put a needle 3/4inch instead of 1 inch into my skin it was very painful. This happened when I was in the hospital for 5 days. I never forgot it. Very painful.
