My frustration is that they are quick to slap the idiopathic label on it without much investigation. I am 100% positive that my SFN is immune mediated, but none of the doctors will listen. I had a rheumatologist tell me that I did not have a rheumatological issue simply based on a negative ANA. He literally told me that I may have to learn to live with my symptoms without a diagnosis, and I should be happy that I do not have a major medical problem. My sed rate is always elevated. My CRP is always elevated. Neither is crazy high but still high. My mother had Sarcoidosis. My cousin has lupus. I have had so many symptoms spread over multiple systems for years. I've had nerve issues, GI issues, debilitating fatigue, pulmonary embolism and DVT, bladder issues, brain fog, hormone issues, migraines, palpitations, issues overheating and regulating temperature, GYN issues...the list goes on. It took years of going to doctors and being dismissed before a neurologist ordered the EMG and then ordered the MRI and skin biopsy. They ruled out MS and diagnosed SFN. They ordered a few lab tests and called it idiopathic. I know the specifically tested me for sialic when I was diagnosed with gastroparesis (which they also labeled idiopathic but was likely caused by SFN). They checked on of the thyroid antibodies when I insisted the check my for Hashimoto. The said they checked me for Lupus but they just checked my ANA. I have had such an infuriating time with doctors. I am a woman who is overweight and all I ever get is diagnosis fat and stressed. I have tried to lose weight without success, and they can't explain why. I pretty much get told to try harder or suggestions of bariatric surgery. I have gastroparesis and malabsorption issues. Why would I want or need bariatric surgery. I don't overeat and struggle to digest what I do as it is. I need to find good doctors in central Texas that are actually willing to try to figure out the underlying issues rather than band aid treatments and dismissive attitudes.

Please record often. Just stay happy, strong, creative and beautiful. You have a very beautiful face andneck, without any wrinkles or irregular lines. You know how they say that theneck is a woman's best friend, because only theneck gives away her true age, and you are so young. I would say it has to do with your beauty that comes from within. My whole body is attacking itself after a single dose of Pfizer in 2021. I’m here because I have symptoms of myosotis as well as RA, Vasculitis and Sjögrens. I’m 43 years old and feel like my life is falling apart. I was already using the keto/Mediterranean diet prior to any of this. No sugar, rarely ever drink, very active. Currently spending most of my day in bed but then having to get up and move around because my neck is seizing up. I am becoming desperate and unable to hold on to any hope - getting married in 6 weeks and I don’t even have the strength to try on my dress. If anyone here has any words of wisdom, please help. I’m in the UK, currently waiting for tests and rheumatology.

I had a hemorrhoidectomy ages ago, a walk in the park compared to the painful hemorrhoid I had prior to the surgery. The pain was intense, which is why I required the surgery in the first place. All I recall from the procedure was being incredibly embarrassed that my family doctor was the one performing it, with the gentle nurse struggling to hold my butt-cheek out of the way. Afterwards I had to sit on a special pillow at my desk at work to relieve discomfort, but again...that was NOTHING compared to the pain that got me there in the first place, and I haven't had a similar episode since. So to anyone fearing such an operation, take heart...you're liable to feel much more pain from embarrassment than the actual surgery, and afterwards you'll feel light-years better. Trust me on this. ;)

@@lucidmed3343 Hi Danielle. Thank you so much for the reply. What dosage you had for your R ALA? I bought mine for 100 mg capsule ? I have been taking 2, for a week, but it says to take 1 on the bottle. Also, I have hashimotos (mild), pre-diabetes, and neuropathy. I am confused, I read somewhere that R-ALA is not good for hashimotos 😥😥. Note: I'm not taking any hashimotos medication as my doctors said I don't need it for now and need more testing after 4 months (since my last blood test was in April)

I got sick and it caused my rib to hurt really bad and after I recovered it seemed to cause my left arm to feel like I hit the gym hard but I haven't been in like a month?! I heard influenza could trigger myositis. Apparently after IV Fluid and Ibuprofen the people recovered?! I also don't have health insurance so there is that it doesn't seem as though a home remedy is an option from this video though.

Hi Larry! Reading this had me with a few questions. An injury such as the one you describe can cause complex regional pain syndrome as well. Myositis also normally presents with muscle weakness causing difficulty rising from a chair etc, quads and hip flexors are most frequently effected (polymyositis). Having pain in your arm on the side you injured your rib is logical but I don't know that it's screaming Myositis to me which is a good thing. It also normally wouldn't go away after a month. Yes, it can progress slowly at 1st but it also typically effects multiple muscle groups throughout the body. You are correct that it can be triggered by viral infections. There is no cure unfortunately but I'd suggest speaking with a doc (I know you don't have insurance) but it's important to rule serious issues out. D

@@lucidmed3343 Case 1 A 37-year old male surgeon presented with three days of progressive muscle pain and weakness. Five days prior he had fever, myalgias and sore throat. His fever and sore throat resolved after two days, but he continued to have muscle pain that evolved into diffuse muscle weakness, greatest in his distal upper extremities. This disabled him from performing surgery. He denied any recent trauma or strenuous exercise. He also denied any medical history or medication use prior to his illness, except for ibuprofen three days prior to his presentation. He reported multiple sick contacts, including sick patients and his four-month old son. His vital signs and general examination were normal. He had no rashes or joint pain. His forearm muscles and intrinsic muscles of the hand were tight and tender to touch. His neurological examination was notable for 5/5 strength throughout except bilateral wrist flexion and extension (4/5), finger flexion (3/5), finger extension (2/5) and thumb adduction (3/5). His reflexes and sensation were normal. Laboratory values were generally unremarkable with the exception of CK (1,504 ng/ml). Pertinent negative virologic tests included RSV by PCR, parvovirus B19, EBV, CSF bacterial culture, HIV, Influenza A by PCR, Influenza B by PCR, and CSF Influenza by PCR. He was given IV fluids and ibuprofen. One day after presentation, the swelling and tenderness improved. Two days later his symptoms had nearly resolved. Examination revealed only subtle 5-/5 weakness in bilateral forearms and hands. CK decreased to 752 ng/ml and serum creatinine remained stable and within normal limits. Nerve conduction and needle EMG (proximal, distal and paraspinal muscles) studies were normal. A few days later he was able to return to work, including performing surgeries.

I developed CRPS after a total ankle replacement A relative who is an orthopedist really listened to my symptoms and suggested that I had CRPS even though I didn't have a lot of swelling but I had high skin sensitivity and the bottom of my foot was sticky indicating sweating. I have had 4 sympathetic nerve blocks and each one has made me incrementally better and I'm on gabapentin. But I have also gone done the path of mind/body and the part trauma plays in this mysterious disease. I experience complex trauma as a child and was retrumatized by my abusive parent in the last year of her life. Once I heard trauma could be contributing I put my self in psychotherapy and have been doing EMDR ---the current and helpful trauma therapy. For me these two things are linked and going both medical and psychological in my treatment gives me hope and I'm on the road to recovery.

Omg, this video just changed my life. I'm in tears. No one believes me about my pain or any of the ailments in struggling with medically. I get labeled a pain seeker no matter where I go and my own pain management doctor didn't catch this but I'm now CERTAIN it's what is ailing me. This is my life. I have every single symptom and have been attributing them all to other things. I've been feeling so depressed thinking, 'wow, one person can't possibly have all these things wrong with them...'
