Appreciate the easy approach to 3d carving. What you didn't show us is the bit detail for plunge, Stepover and speed. This is critical for 3d carving and as you can tell where I am struggling the most. thanks again

Wow that was a coocky carving Lol thank you I just learned something and you made it easy yes I will order the bit collars. Thank you

Well VERNON, you made it look sssooo easy I have to try it, yup got to try it. Will let you know how it turns out. Yea my daughter also has CHICKENS and they lay a whole lot of eggs so I will be making it for her so she can put it on HER CHICKEN HOUSE.

That’s great Karl! Glad it helped you! Just don’t go too deep on your first try and remember to adjust safe z so the cut time isn’t tremendous
@karlriley1314 Жыл бұрын
@@Hinkleshop Got the depth set at .3 like you showed and the Z at .1. HAHA just copied what you did.

sent an email to the only email I found for ya, it was Lisa's, sorry. Worked out great but that 1/4 sure was fast. Would it have been ok to speed up the round nose some? It was a little slow and took awhile to finish. Thanks for the help. I thank I'm gona try some more.
@Hinkleshop Жыл бұрын
Great job on the chicken Karl to answer your question yes, you can adjust the feeds and speeds do it in very slow increments. The biggest concern is step over of the ball nose too much step over will stripe the project to little will increase the time tremendously the smaller the step over though, will reduce the amount of sanding that’s necessary on the project.

I've seen one photo carve on your channel from a year ago but its only 3 mins. Do you have a more in depth one?
@Hinkleshop Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Sorry I don’t I will add that to the list and try to do one asap

@VernonHinkle Thanks would very helpful. I am new to cnc and wanting to do photo carves. I've watched the carveco tutorial on their channel but messing up somehow and just need another perspective with showing the actual cut as well.

what clamps are those?
@Hinkleshop11 ай бұрын
They are metal straps from Amazon with Johnnie bolts from a big box store the bolts have been filed flat on two sides to slip through the groove in the straps

Hello Vernon,I email you my picture of my first 3d, but how do I get a more detailed carve,thanks
@Hinkleshop Жыл бұрын
Use a smaller diameter bit with a smaller step over Tapered ball mills are typically used to increase the level of detail

@@Hinkleshop okay I going to have to get some of those tapered Bits. I only have 1/8 inch ballnose for now,THANKS. Have a good Memorial Day

Hello Vernon I'm going to 3D called that rooster again to see if I can get more detail I just got three tapered bullnose 1/8 116th and 132nd which one do you think I should use and you said to lower the step over what number should I set it on preciate your help have a good night
@Hinkleshop Жыл бұрын
Try the 16th first set the step over to .025 to .03 realize this is going to dramatically increase carve time

Hello Vernon this video gave me the courage to try a 3D relief I'm doing the rooster now but on the roughing, my cnc stoped almost on end.Would I be able to start finishing cut to finish the relief or to start all over..Also how do I find the settings for my bits to apply to each bit..I really enjoy your video...and the humor, lol..Thanks
@Hinkleshop Жыл бұрын
Outstanding glad you are giving it a try Be careful starting the finish pass without fully completing the rough it may be too much material for the finishing bit to handle Check your sleep setting on the computer make sure it never sleeps this may be why it stopped As for the bits usually the package has the info if not I would go to the manufacturer website I use whiteside bits and Amana they both have good sites outlining the specs Thank you for the kind words glad you are enjoying the videos and I hope this helps too

My biggest problem with reliefs is it take 24 hour to do 1. Your video has me thinking the safe Z is what’s biting me. What was the time on that carve?
@Hinkleshop Жыл бұрын
Hi Russell Thanks for watching! your right, reliefs do take some time to carve but this one took me roughly an hour and 20 minutes and yes, the safe Z will cause a huge amount of time if you don"t lower it
@russellbrown6657 Жыл бұрын
Thanks I looked at the relief I had setup and adjusted the safe Z to .1 and unchecked multiple z passes. 24 to 3 hours doing my 1st relief now. Thanks for the video

I thought I followed along, but my bit is moving above the board like it is working but it is not touching the wood. Do you know what I did wrong?
@justwavingenterprises2542 Жыл бұрын
I had it set to bottom of material. 1st bit worked but 2nd bit is in the air now?
@Hinkleshop Жыл бұрын
It sounds like you didn’t re zero your z height off of the original board thickness Bring the bit over an area that hasn’t been cut and re zero your z height there DO NOT RE ZERO X OR Y just the Z Hope this helps
@Hinkleshop Жыл бұрын
Also I always zero off the top of the work piece

how do you reduce an imported file in carveco
@Hinkleshop11 ай бұрын
Once the file is in Carveco BEFORE you paste the relief down click the transform tool and resize it then paste it down Be sure to have the proportion lock 🔒 on so everything remains correct when reducing Hope this helps

Vernon...me again. Trying this out for myself out in the shop & ran into an issue. When I get to the toolpath, and mind you, I'm following along with you, my Z-Slices don't match your numbers. Your numbers in Z-Slices show Start: .85721 Last: .021 # of slice 9 Slice of thickness : 0.09291. Mine show Start: 0 Last: 1.63998 # of slices: 1 Slice of thickness: blank Any ideas on what I did wrong? Thanks again!!

Unsure but not sure how you have a single pass did you enter a rough tool

Interesting 🤔 you might want to give Carveco tech support a call If you drag and drop from the library it should come in the silver until you paste in down
