On garry's mod workshop, when people use machine translation from russian, map (often when they're talking about a map addon) will often end up translated to card. It's often more accurate just to read their descriptions in russian. :) The game has a lot of russians making mods for it.

its funny because in french we have a word « carte », which is pronunced exactly like in russian btw, having the same double meaning for card and map I think I have even seen some similar meme in the french community with pokemon cards 😂

The Russian word actually comes from the French word! This exists with some other words too, as the Russian nobility used to speak French as a second language between themselves
