I sometimes use čauko kakauko and you can translate it in English "hi hot chocolate" :D

I always thought that "Maj sa" is closely related to the expression "Ako sa Mas," so I thought it would be similar to our American expression "Take care," which we also use as a "parting" greeting when we are leaving the company of another person or persons.

Can you please show various greetings that we might use in email or text messages in terms of formal to informal. For example -- S pozdravom (very formal?), Pekny den prajem, pekny den/vikend/vecer, maj sa, ahoj, Cau etc. Once I used "Maj sa" as a goodbye greeting in an email message to a Slovak whom I knew, but not that well. She corrected me, saying that I should not use "Maj sa" in that situation, but should instead use "Pekny den." D'akujem!

I had previously learned that Ahoj and Ahojte should only be used "informally." You said it can also be used formally? I didn't know this.

People nowadays use it more frequently, but for formal conversation I personally always use Dobrý deň :)
