Creo que en los dos casos utilizar la comunicación y hablar con sinceridad. Utilicen sentimientos y necesidades para expresarlos y así deja también un espacio para escucharlos. Porque muchas veces tenemos problemas y en lugar de decir lo que sentimos vamos dejando que el problema se agrave.

Great question! Pamela is speaking specifically about her friend here (not 'someone' in general), and she’s saying: “If you tell her something she doesn’t like, she gets very sad.” You could express exactly the same message by rearranging the word order, which might be a helpful way to think of this: “Si le dices algo que no le gusta, se pone muy triste.”

This is for Spanish listening. It is very useful after you have a small foundation in Spanish and want to begin practicing listening and understanding the language. It's actually one of the best Spanish listening tools I've seen. You won't find many channels that speak this clearly and slowly.
