Do the verbs in a sentence have to match up? Because in the sentence " Cuando yo nací, yo vivía en N-Y" you used the indefinido and the imperfect.

Not necessarily. They do generally match up. Preterite with Preterite and Imperfect with Imperfect. Imperfect with Preterite is a definite possibility. But they match up in the sense that both are a Past Tense. Hopefully this clarifies it for you. Gracias y hasta pronto, Profesor Pablo.

Thinking about the vn9 case, if the person did marry, but just never had the large family they originally hoped for, how does that change things? 'Después de me casé hubiera gustado tener una familia muy grande' or something else?
