Hola Heather. I took 4 years of Spanish in high school. Majored in Spanish in college. Became a state licensed court interpreter. Taught high school Spanish for 30+ years and also taught at the community college level. All this while being happily married, a sports coach, a sports announcer, a sports photographer and proud father of two wonderful sons. Absolutely no Spanish speakers in my family. As a teacher I always wanted to know the "why" and I made it a point to figure out how the Spanish language is constructed. That took me to where I am today. Basically what I have learned is from a constant passion for the Spanish language. There are no mysteries in the Spanish language. The grammar is all logical and explainable. As far as accent marks are concerned, I looked very hard into current explanations which, in my opinion, are too clunky and don't stick, and created a "cut to the chase" system that anyone can learn readily.
