Everybody needs to recognize that she is so good with her second language that she can fully explain/teach her first. I don't see myself ever being so fluent in Spanish that I could fully explain English to a Spanish speaking person.
@juztkei2 жыл бұрын
Literally I always think about that, explaining your first language in your second seems so next level 😭😭 I'm always impressed
@zacharysmith78722 жыл бұрын
@@juztkei I’m a native English speaker and I’m pretty sure I can’t explain English. Good luck to anyone trying to figure it out. “Less” is for non discrete object. “There is less sand on the floor now” “Fewer” is for discrete objects. “There are fewer grains of sand on the floor now.” “This shirt is less than 10 dollars.” Que? The cost is not discrete. Unless you are comparing two numbers. Then it’s “less”. 8 is less than 10. Because they are treated as nouns and in a sense they aren’t discrete. LoL. Good luck.
@toresaetre77932 жыл бұрын
@@zacharysmith7872 The cost may not be discrete, but it's currency. You dont say you have fewer money after you have been shopping. Cause it's currency. Now, I am not native. I don't know if my thoughts are correct, but at least at first glance it seems to be.

Keep in mind european spanish is a bit different. The new world came with its own influences that changed the way spanish is spoken in the former colonies in a post colonial world. Aside from some grammar, spelling and vocabulary differences there is a much more european inflection when spanish is spoken in spain it almost sounds musical like italian. Some slang words are very specific as well. Also u will find some letters are pronounced different in spain. For example Ss are pronounced with a lisp.

Girl, this video was AMAZING!!!! I have been watching some Spanish TV (El Gran Hotel, to be exact. The original version from Spain es mejor que the re-make from Mexico, btw) to try and brush up on my Spanish. It's been at least 10 years since I've taken classes, and I've forgotten so many of these specific things. On a whim, I googled "espanol por o para" and this video popped up. I listened to it while I took a shower and put on makeup. It didn't take any time out of my day because I would have been getting ready anyway, but now I feel like I know the difference between the two again! :D Yea! I'm going to start watching your other videos when I get ready in the mornings! I don't know why you started doing these, but I am SO SO grateful! Another thing that I would really like to learn again are the "hasta" phrases. The differences between "It's been 8 years since I've done this" vs "I've been doing this for 8 years" and "how long has it been since you last rode a bike" vs "how long have you been riding your bike?" I've googled it a couple times, but I must not be typing in the right words because I can't find the explanation anymore. Also, I love that you used those songs at the end that used both por and para and explained the differences! That was adorable, and I totally knew that Shakira song in high school. That made me smile. Thank you! :)

I am completely self-taught, other than being able to learn enough from her to learn from native speaking people. To the point, now, they all say that I definitely speak Spanish. But, I learn new things every day; this being one of them. I’m embarrassed that I never knew the rules. I’ve also realized a lot of native speakers don’t know why they say what they say, they just know know it sounds weird otherwise. Very much like English speakers with “a/an” and many other things. So, you have to study!!!! Thank you for these videos!!!!

Hola~ I tried to watch a few of your lessons. I really appreciate that you are covering the important topics, however, I tend to have to fast forward your videos throughout. If you don't mind me saying, it will be much better if you don't take too much time explaining the same thing. I fast forward your video when you're repeating yourself on the same part with too many examples, and that makes the lesson long and a little tiring. I'm sorry that I don't mean to be critical, but most of your audiences are rather smart people (I hope), and we will get what you mean without you talking too much on the same thing. :) Muchísimas gracias~

The teacher makes me laugh all while learning spanish. Whenever I'm in a rut with my spanish I like to put her on. Seems like a nice lady.
