Based on the examples "tratar de" seems to be applied mostly for tasks that are obligated/expected of you while "intentar" is mostly for things you really want to do or achieve. Me corrija si soy incorrecto pero la lección de hoy es muy util. Muchas gracias!

Great lesson as always Ana; I want to add a useful “pronominal” version of “tratar de”; por ejemplo “no se trata de dinero” meaning roughly“it’s not about the money” or “money is not the issue”. Cheers!
