That select all army hotkey does more damage than good, notice how the medivacs just walk into death with no army to heal. Winter should suggest all new players unbind it.

at 47:00 with Winter talking about diamond, it really struck me. I was silver all through wol and hots (never played it seriously) and then I ended up played for a year every day. Well I decided to get good with innovations 2-1-1 from my time watching in HotS. While it isnt a cannon rush, I flew through the rankings often winning with those 16 marines, and then I hit diamond and fell flat on my face against people who knew how to not die to it.

I have been struggling a bit to become better after reaching Silver lvl1 / Gold 3 and have kept being promoted and demoted back and fourth and after hearing Winter saying maybe 40 000 times that unbinding F2 could help improve overall macro I actually took the decision to do it and boy was he right, of course it's super weird in the beginning but after a while it really helps you to see your units better and avoid just panicing and pressing F2 as soon as you get a terran counter-drop in your own base. Just randomly posting this on a Winter video as I don't know where I heard it the 40 000 times but thanks for all the help :D

@WinterStarcraft is it worthy play in a slower speed to train and then rise it to fastest or it's better to just play fastest and try to follow the build orders? I'm struggling to keep up with the timing of things and muscle learning the shortkeys (moved from standard to QWERT). It so fast for me at this point that I can't pay attention to scouts (despite I send them) and I also do not yet read their strategy by looking at the buildings because my mind is trying to keep up with spending the resources usefully

I just download the game 3 days ago, my APM is really bad about 100 and that is probably the spam atk move i do. Speaking of which I am practicing protoss, the easiest for me so far and when I go into micro mode I forget to make unit. I find it is easier to break it on Terran cuz I can just control group to make unit but with protoss I have to warp separate unit on pylon powered and I tried it few times and panic everytime. Any tips on training for this? Thanks a lot!

I'm Terran and my TvP sucks. So I've tried lately to make a widow mine drop against protoss but usually they end up out macroing it. The only strategy that works for me is the two base push. Any tips on how to approach the match up at +8 min? Diamond 2

Random d2 here. About the mine drops, I suggest marine drops instead of mine drops as it both transition easier, and is a lot more consistent when I use it, and I die to marine drops a lot too. A toss can't "out macro" a marine drop as long as the terran doesn't lose the marines and doesn't screw up his own macro, and in d2 the drops WILL do damage unless the toss cut a lot of probes earlier than 5 minutes in. As for 8+ minutes, range liberators+marines against templar (it's frigging difficult to play against with templar/archons being the priority target unless you have a lot of stalkers to buffer), and mmm+tanks against colossi (usually there won't be a lot of air/immo in a colo build, and you can just kite zealots forever with concussive shells). Anything else just kill'em with mass marines.

it's 300/300 that is semi-countered by most standard builds...? pvp ppl open stalkers and/or pheonix tvp ppl open either a lot of marines or a cyclone, always with a starport ready by the time the second oracle finishes zvp people have queens as long as they're not sure what the toss is doing (if they didn't scout the toss' tech) or if they know air units are on the way (if they actually scouted it).

He mentioned on stream a few days ago that armour only really benefits immortals unless you're fighting vs mass marine bio or hydra/ling and since almost every protoss unit has a lot of base damage the ~30% damage boost that +2 gives far outweighs +1 armour. Something like that anyway!

Because you only want to survive marine shots more than killing them so they can't shoot as many times when you're zealot/lingbane heavy. No amount of armor can help with siege tanks, and if you don't kill the marines fast the tanks will shred you with or without armor. That, and medivacs.
