Thank you Lahani for your comments. The books can be limited , because it cannot explain by sounds and cannot further explain because of their limitations of pages. That is the reason why I try to explain as much as possible. And I use a very neutral and standard Thamizh so it sounds very easily understandable by everyone , and it is more of day to day conversation. If there is any more explanation you would need for anything , feel free to ask in the comment and I shall answer. And certainly , it is not a very difficult language, it just requires a slightly different approach of learning and teaching. I am sure one can get a decent aquintance of the language in a matter of 5 months . you could checkall my lessons under the youtube search " learn and speak tamil like a native"

My mother tongue is Bengali and I am quite fluent in Hindi as well but dravidian languages seem really intriguing and fascinating to me. I've learnt Telugu recently and it's really a life changing experience for me. It has expanded my horizon and opened new possibilities for me I never knew existed. Watching Tollywood movies without subtitles is a bonus. All I can say is my interest in exploring dravidian languages has grown even more. I'm aspiring to learn Tamil next and I think I've found a channel that fits my needs perfectly! Thank you so much for pouring your heart and soul in making these videos, for making Tamil learning a blissful experience for all of us. Finally, I wanted to know how many languages you can speak (Just curious!) ☺

Yes indeed . Understanding a language expands our horizon. It is fascinating. Most of the time I learnt languages without effort as I feel that stressing can make language learning boring and hard. Something need not work first time, but I don't stress. I let mistakes happen . Tamil is not a difficult language as it is touted to be. I speak Tamil , Hindi , English , French and German . And a decent level of Malayalam and Kannada. But I learnt it gradually but in a short time frame.. esp the foreign languages. Best wishes, Pamela

Since my mother tongue is Marathi, I find that, for the sake of better understanding, if I translate my doubts in Marathi rather than in English, Tamil learning gets a lot better. After all, even though the language is different, the rules of Indian languages remain quite similar than that of English.😀
@LEARNTAMIL13 жыл бұрын
That is very true Neelesh . And that is the reason why any of the Indian language speaker can learn Tamil or any other Indian languages much easier than a French or a Chinese native. Also have you noticed that the sounds or consonants are also clearer in a typical way in all the Indian langauges. The the other groups of languages have different consonant music or sound

Mini question about the spelling of "to eat", "to see" and "to walk" in the oral language: from the spelling in the tamlizh alphabet, shouldn't we transcript it in "saappidaradhu", "paakkaradhu" and "nadakkaradhu" ? Is it to simplify that we can omit/change as we cant' hear the difference ? Thanks again for this perfect video to learn present and infinitive !
@LEARNTAMIL14 жыл бұрын
Actually it is very difficult to frame the infinitive form in Tamil as it is very irregular. Hence " saapidaradhu" " paakkaradhu " are all similar to verbal noun in Thamizh and it can be helpful to conjugate a verb. All my lessons are oral or spoken language except I mention it otherwise. You can however check a lesson that I have made about infinitive verbs.

Hello!! I wanted to thank you for your material. It's really inspiring me to learn this, at first glance, difficult language. I love Tamil evergreen music and therefore have always wanted to learn a little. Question though: I've heard Tamil is quite irregular and that for the pronoun தான் for example, there are 3 endings: றேன் (the one shown here), டேன் and தேன் and this video makes it look quite regular. Is it maybe regular on the spoken form but not in the written form? Could you please clarify this?? Nanri from Argentina
@LEARNTAMIL13 жыл бұрын
Hello Gaston .. Good morning from India. I guess you are an advanced level learner to go that level I do not quite understand what you . But let me explain . தான் is not a pronoun .. it is a reflexive pronoun for any pronoun. if you are askign . Besides , both the spoken and written are quite proper . I do not understand what you mean by regular here ... do you mean regular verb or irregular verb.. If you are asking about organized ... both are in its own way and well connected. Certainly keep in touch . But ... Tamil a different language is a cliche ... it is a very easy langauge.... I have heard many saying after learning it . I am trying to break the myth. Please could you ask it a bit more clearly I will sure reply . Thank you Gaston .

@@LEARNTAMIL1 No, please don't get me wrong. I'm happy I found your channel because of all the information you offer and this video is no exception. I was scared of verbs before but you helped me understand. My doubt is that I had watched another video where the girl says there are many exceptions in the verb conjugation and she said that for the 1st person singular, there are those 3 options and no clear rule so you have to learn the conjugation in particular for each new verb you learn. So my question is: can you always conjugate நான் with றேன் ending? I suggested that maybe the written form is conjugated with those 3 forms, officially but when talking, people simplified it with just 1 ending? Hope I made myself clear now I hope I get far with this beautiful language
@LEARNTAMIL13 жыл бұрын
@@gastonmartinez6316 Firstly , please feel free to ask anything about the language. I did not mistake you at all. There is a lot of limitation in writing and it sometimes shows a wrong tone. I am glad you are asking . If you are asking about the றேன் ending , it is present imperfect ( can be also used for near future and willingness as in English ) . So there is no other way for it . such as pOrE.n saapidarE.n ezhudharE.n May be she is meaning other tenses like continuous, perfect , etc... I am trying to understand my own language through the prism of other languages like French , German and English which I also speak. It gives a different dimension .. and explaining becomes easier. I am trying to make it in such a way that a language learning should not be more than a year. There is nothing more than that to learn . Then it is all one's experience and ones own self assimilation. I emphasize in my videos. As far as Tamil , it is a structured language.. Learning is quite simple. It is one of the oldest language that has evolved over 5000 years. So it is rich too. I would like to make more videos , but my tech knowledge is limited. hence I am going slow. please ask a question whenever you want , but I insist don't learn a language forever, it could be boring . Just one year and start experiencing it. What is your native tongue by the by Gaston?
