Jazakallah O Khair! May Allah bless showering his mercy upon those who simply and only for the pleasure of Allah, without any greed for materialistic gain or power hungry, do good. One perfect example is this video teaching others ie spreading knowledge for Allah’s sake on understanding arabic. Knowing and understanding the words repeated multiple times in the Quran. An effort to simply things for others. Imagime reciting the Quran a non arab is able to grasp and understand it as if arabic being the mother tongue. Just the thought of being in the congregational prayers where Imam recites verses of Quran, where now we understand which makes the worship imteresting raisimg imaan and more of a chance for a worshipper focused. This makes the linkage with Allah rock solid. Able to understand the recitation bu the Imam durimg the worship is a totally different ball game. 👍🏽 Allah states in the Quran to think and contemplate reading and or hearing the Quranic verses. Now how can one ponder upon the verses if one does not understand it? So please this a 🔑. Simple! Period! Many thanks and prayers for this brother trying to help others understanding Quranic Arabic. There is a difference of opinion amongst the scholars regarding the two terms. The best explanation that I have heard is from Sheikh Salih al-'osaimi who said that nabii is sent to a people who are not opposing him whereas a rasool is sent to people who are opposing him. Linguistically, Rasool means the one who comes with a message. However this linguistic definition breaks down when we consider some Nabis who came with a message. Since this a basic translation, we opted to present them as synonyms only and leave the details for later. Hope this helps.

Can't find any difference between the words, Entirely Merciful and Permanently Merciful, in English. To say Ar Rahman means entirely merciful and Ar Rahim means permanently merciful seems illogical. What is the difference between Entirely and Permanently? None that can be seen!! Earlier scholars and translators like Picktall, Yusuf Ali and Daryabadi translated the word Rahman as Beneficent which means One who gives, bestows, grants, generous etc etc. One sura Ar-Rahman ( sura 55) is devoted to this name of Allah the Great, which points the qualities of His Beneficence . Rahim Or Merciful on the other hand would mean one who shows mercy, who pities, who forgives, who responds to repentance etc etc. So please don't use English words of new translators who have no business to produce fresh translations when there are existing accepted translations for about or over a century. I just wonder if non Muslims read these new translations they may be confused by the the meaning of Rahman and Rahim Please use translations of accepted Translators

JazakumuAllah khair. Translations are not a proof of anything. These translators are not scholars of the Arabic language and it's their best attempt at explaining the meaning. And at the end, it is a Translation and nothing more. These is difference amongst the classical scholars such as Imam At-Tabari, Ibn Mandhoor, Ibn Kathir and others regarding the difference between Rahman and Raheemn. Some have said there is no difference and both point to the mercy of Allah 'Aza wa jal. In Arabic grammar, Rahman is upon the structure of f’alaan, which implies vastness. i.e. the possessor of vast mercy. Raheem is upon the structure of fa’eel, which refers to the action i.e. a mercy that reaches others. It also implied a quality that is permanent. This is the opinion of many scholars. Ibn al-Qayyim said Rahman is referring to the nature of Allah as incredibly merciful and Raheem is the affect of the mercy. • الرحمن دالٌّ على الصفة القائمة بالله، والرحيم دالٌ على تعلّق هذه الرحمة وأثرها على العباد iQ Others have said that the Rahman is for the whole of creation and the Raheem is for the believers (this is why translations use words such as especially merciful but again it does not capture the meaning). This is problematic as Allah describes himself as being Raheem to the whole of mankind. إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِالنَّاسِ لَرَءُوفٌ رَحِيمٌ • From these two names, we learn how incredibly merciful Allah is-- Rahman in that His nature is vastly merciful صفة ذاتية) and Raheem in that His actions are based on mercy صفة فعلية) and that His mercy is permanent. Hope this helps the confusion. At the end translations are just a rough estimate of the meaning and don't capture the miracle of the Quran. Hence its best to go back to the Arabic and see how earlier and classical scholars understood these words.
