I went blind a few years ago, but due to my living situation at the time I wasn't able to take advantage of Rehabilitation until recently. I recently got in touch with my local Bureau of services for blind persons, and they sent me a braille card with the alphabet on it in the mail. And this video makes it easier to follow the cells on the card. Thank you very much.

I have seen books in braile before and they just blew my mind how someone could read them. Your explanation was excellent and clear. Thank you for your video.

Great job! Now the hard part is learning to follow the cells and read them quickly. But this is great for things like lifts/elevators. Such a great sounding voice as well

I worked in the hotel business for years and I have been very low vision for a lot of years one of my favorite things to do is to walk up to a sign that has Briel on it run my hands over it and say either do you know what that’s really saying or they misspelled a couple things on here. It takes the people who can see and make some very upset and I always got a good laugh out of it call me crew bro we have to find our humor when we can take care another great video thanks

Hi Kayla. It is so wonderful to see you again and how much I appreciate this video. My vision is getting worse and I enjoy playing cards. So this video definitely is a big help for sure. I do have a question though do you have any suggestions on how to Mark cards with braille darts? Maybe you’ve come up with some ideas over the years. Sending you a great big hug and lots of love and thank you again for this awesome video. You’re always missed and I’m always glad to have you back. Well

I always thought you just feel a letter k or a sentence you are reading. Like how some appliances have their names where you can feel the letters. I always thought that was brail le I learned something new today.

I think that is what they used to try before braille was invented! They tried to teach blind people to read raised letters but it wasn't really working (that's what I heard but I haven't researched so I'm not sure)
@kevindavis4709
@kevindavis4709 3 жыл бұрын
@@sisina_sie7652 interesting. There's some places you can feel the actual letters for example speakers and electronics. Or a sign on a wall such as men and women's restroom. Or a plack. Or want somebody carbs somebody's name into a wall.

Hey, firstly i want to say i love your channel name. When you start a video and introduce yourself ‘hey it’s Cayla. You should say he it’s Cayla With a C haha. On a more serious note … i have been legally blind for many years but now am a bit housebound as i need to start using a cain but am awaiting training. But also i have been considering learning brail. If you think of the effort you had to put in to learn brail and the benefits of learning brail … would you recommend i put in the effort as an adult, or shall i just stick with text to speech and other technological solutions? If you did not know brail, would you learn today?
