Seriously THANK YOU! I just picked yoyoing back up after 15 years. I had forgotten everything. Got an unresponsive first and got it to bind and then got a responsive. Now that I have a responsive, i'm going back through the basics. Since your videos are so informative, I got 5 mildly clean breakaway's in a row after the first 20 minutes of trying it. I figure 20 minutes a day to work on each trick i learn after i get another one down will be plenty of time so frustration doesn't set in. Thank you for helping the YoYo community. I have an unresponsive metal magic yoyo silencer. No matter what I do, I can't get it to rotate smoothly. It just goes straight out, and when it hits the end of the string it bounces back to me. It's easy to bind like this, but I want to have a smooth rotation. Do you have any tips or suggestions for me to try?

Thanks for the vid, I have a velocity and I can do this semi-consistently. But the part of the string looped on to my finger keeps turning in the direction of the yo-yo and I have to reset the loop so it rests in the right direction. I have the correct slip knot on my finger too, any tips?

Also, my yoyo string, every time I do anything , even just a simple throw down and bind back up, for some strange reason the string always gets twisted up and it makes winding the string back up extremely difficult. Also, for some reason, whenever I just wind the string up, the string gets twisted a lot for winding it up. Plz help

That yoyo is known for being pretty awful, but in most cases if a yoyo is not as responsive as you like it means you need to lube the bearing with thick yoyo lube.

Ok, I am confused. How can I know that my yoyo is spinning in the right direction after a breakaway? I am a left handed, so when I throw the yoyo to the front, in order to perform the bind I need to put my offhand first finger behind the string (kind of away from me if that makes sense) and then perform the bind Now, when throwing a breakaway, theoretically the yoyo is supposed to be spinning backwards from how it does when throwing it to the front, right? Which means that I, as a left handed, after throwing it to my left side and have it spinning sideways in front of me, should put my offhand first finger on the right side of the string in order to perform the bind, right? Or another way to see it, after throwing the breakaway, if I want the yoyo to spin in the same direction it does when I throw it to the front, I should turn my body to the right and place the yoyo in front of me. BUT, this is not what's happening. After throwing the yoyo to the left and having it spin sideways in front of me, I am turning my body to the left in order to perform the same bind I do when throwing it to my front. The move I am doing is basically the same move I do to throw the yoyo to my front, I just turn my arm to the left and give the yoyo a bit of a pendulum move so that it will go all the way to the right in order for me to do the trapeze. Am I missing something?

Most likely you are attempting to bind with the yoyo on the wrong side of the string. The breakaway causes the yoyo to spin in the opposite direction, so you need to bind by first getting the yoyo on the opposite side of the string you normally would. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pZivi6mbf9J-r9k

Do your best to drop your hand under the yoyo as you bind, which will get the string out of the way so that it doesn't bind too quickly. Besides that, move your yoyo hand away from the yoyo as it comes back to cushion the blow.

The Sage is responsive in this video. The One has a very narrow gap, so it can have trouble when on the string sometimes.
