Great Video! Forgive me for the intrusion, I would love your opinion. Have you ever tried - Riysaballer Salient Recognition (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for teaching your child to read minus the headache. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my cousin finally got great results with it.

Here in the U.K. I had long daily commutes on our Motorways. I practiced the Phonetic alphabet (when safe to do so of course) by reading and memorising the first three letters of any car license plate in front of me or overtaking me. I’d then say out the Phonetic names and move onto the next. If I couldn’t remember the name I’d look it up when i got to work. All this was over ten years ago but I can honestly say I know the Phonetic alphabet backwards now!

Rachel, thank you for this video! We do use it in Brazil and the words are the same with slight difference of pronunciation. We also use a different way to pronounce numbers by the telephone. And I'm curious to know if there's a similar one in English. For exemplo, to zero we say negative, and others numbers an ordinal form. This alphabet is very important in tourism because when it's necessary take note of flight reservation, and it's something that can't be misunderstood, the communication is made by the phonetic alphabet.

I am about to become a drone pilot, and we must understand the international phonetic alphabet to communicate with whoever we need to. It's rare to communicate apparently with TWR but it can happen. The radio (phonetic) alphabet is often mistakenly called NATO alphabet. Even though it was not created by Nato, or by the armed forces of any Nato member country. NATO has actually not even made an official decision to use this set of phonetic alphabet. The alphabet was created jointly by the ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation), IMO (international Maritime Organisation) and ITU (International Telecommunications Union) Military forces have had their phonetic alphabets, but they were different from county to country. Actually, even different services of the US armed forced had their own, slightly different set of alphabet.
