Thanks so much for this! Great job! I’d like to point out, in case it wasn’t immediately apparent for anyone, that the Gm voicing in the chorus is nearly the same as the Bb that comes after it, but with the pinky added on the 2nd string. Just lift the pinky and you’re already where you need to be, at the Bb. 🙂

1 question when you do the verse stacato run with the minor 7. You remove the 5th string sound but are you barring from 4th string down when you walk it from 5th to 12 fret etc or just 1 finger on D string?

I see in live videos that Andy adds the F on the B string when playing the intro Dm11 chord (D,F,C,G notes). Most tutorials lift off the F and let the D ring on the B string. To my ear the additional F there matches what I'm hearing as well.

The Mistress! She is Queen. I use a CE-2 and a Mooer reecho delay, or sometimes swap out the Chorus for an ElecLady, a decent cheap copy of the Electric Mistress. But for some reason the chorus sounds more like the original recording.

To be pedantic the skank chords in the verse are Dm - Bb/C - C NOT Dm7 - Gm - Am. You can play the skanks as an F triad a Bb triad and then a C triad.(In and open D position shape.)

I'm crap at tunings, did I miss him saying what they were? 🤔 I mean, regular, 'normal' tuning or something different?! I was jammy (lucky!) enough to work out that Message In A Bottle was a few power chords sort of 'walking' up the fretboard! Even more jammy to be able to sing over what I'm playing (which to me is ultra hard anyway, but sometimes, just sometimes, I can do it effortlessly! And I don't know why!?!)... Even 'simpler songs that others find easy, I find hard! But harder to play tunes (for them), I can sometimes nail without trying! 😊 I have no idea why? 🤔 Well, I have a theory that I may have similar, natural word phrasing as the artist does, and I'm able to follow through just because we may have a similar cadence (I think that's the right word!?) as they do. Another artist I'm 'ok' at singing and playing along to is PJ Harvey. But otherwise, singing and playing is rock hard for me to do. Though sometimes effortless with other artists! 😊 🤔 I find that an artist's vocal melody is generally what separates them from others. Like, they have a knack for singing certain phrases certain (different) ways and that makes them stand out more (of course, playing the instrument helps a fuck of a lot too, obviously! But it doesn't matter whether they're 'simple' players or virtuoso's! ie back to PJ, she's a 'simple' player, yet her poetry/lyrics fit the chords/music in such beautiful ways. Ok I'm rambling a little bit, and it's certainly NOT a rule that I'm talking about, but just something that works for me... Nicko PS - I have friends who are literally virtuoso's (been playing guitar/bass/drums and much more) since that they began learning music when they could pick up an instrument ie from 4/5years old! Music is their vocation and career, they have their own top of the line studios they custom built and which they rent out. Anyways, their music is bland as fuck generally and they're always asking ME to "Play that thing that you played me earlier, that rocks!" or whatever. And I'm just like, dude, I showed you how to play it, you CAN play it better than me anyway! 😊 But then, they CAN'T! As cheesy as it sounds, they have to 'unlearn' what they've learnt over the years because I've had ZERO tuition and tend to play by ear and/or intuitively, which they find extremely hard to do! I'm like, "Dude, I'll write stuff and YOU can play it! I don't mind being a songwriter for someone else to interpret, that's fine!" "But you can play it so much better!" (Maybe!) "But I don't know what note that's called, what chord that's called, or what tuning that's called! You can pluck all that out of the air when you hear it, I can't!" Yet, yup, they just cannot play something how I do! All because I've had no training in any way. That cheesy line from Yoda is totally true in me and my friends cases! 😊 "You must Unlearn what you have learned" (it's 'learnt', bad grammar, I AM a grammar nazi too!)... Even though I'm not 100% perfect, I try to be! Makes me feel a lot cleverer when I see muppets on KZbin trying to be intellectual! Your simple mistakes make me think that you're not as on the ball as you think you are! Did you take anything in at school? 🤔 And it's seemingly getting worse thanks to shit like Twitter and what have you, where you have to shorten your messages/texts to fit them in. It's a bit of an irritant for me! And shit like autocorrect INFURIATES me when it chooses the wrong thing and I don't always notice! Arrrgh! 😊 LoL! (I don't mind shortened phrases like "LOL" of course, but originally I thought it meant "Lots of Love"! So I was like, huh?!) 🤔 LoL! 😊 And SO MANY people fall back on "I'm dyslexic"... Well, going by the rate of dyslexic people, that feels like 50% of people now! And I don't think that's the case. I think it's just because A LOT of people genuinely ARE thick as shit now! 😊 LoL! Oh, and I AM guilty of shortening words like because to "Cos" just to fit my texts/messages in to character restricted mediums...🤔 Wow! Now, THAT was a total off the wall tangent that I went on! 😊 Which I'm very guilty of! Sort of turning my comments into mini therapy sessions for myself! 😂 You either love 'em or hate 'em, most people hate them, but they know where I'm coming from...! 🤔 I think...? 🤔 🤞🏼😜👍🏼 🤘🏼😁👌🏼 ✌🏼😉👍🏼

Wow! Yeah, that was a bit of a pointless 'grammar nazi' rant! My apologies! I do know that I'm not perfect too though! 😇 LoL! 😘
