Yes, they are. But it is more common to use 'pero' in today's Spanish. 'Mas' is old Spanish but people will understand you. Thanks for watching! 👍

Mas (without the accent) can be interchangeable with pero, they both mean but. In my experience, it’s not used that way much. Pero is more common.

Use "e" before a word that begins with the i sound..(inteligente, Italia, hijo) - amable e inteligente - Portugal e Italia - padres e hijos Hope that helps!
