I am 67 years old and trying to learn to play the banjo. Another thing is that I am left handed and it is like a person craving another piece of pie. I am trying to study and learn everything I can about the Banjo. Thank you for the videos. Allen

Really enjoying you tutorials. Been playing 30+ years and learn something new each time. I’ve gotten a lot of milage out of your “D” tunes for banjo.

LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!! I SWEAR you were teaching banjo the one year I was able to make it KAUFMANN CAMP way back in 2006, but I could be mistaken, I was there to learn mandolin from Roland White, John Moore, Don Steirenberg, and Alan Bibey!! And I love the sound of your banjo, sounds like Courtney Johnsons did!!

Should these rolls all be practiced at the same time end to end or practice one roll one day and another the next. And how long should a beginner at rolls practice. What do you usually instruct a student?
@EddieCollinsMusic2 жыл бұрын
I usually go over one roll at a time, say the alternating roll and then have the student learn a song that primarily uses that roll, like Cripple Creek. Then do the same with the forward/backward roll and Banjo in the Hollow, etc. Same with these licks, learn one or two and find a song that uses them as suggested in the video.

What is the song in the intro?

That's Rapid Transit, the title cut from my 2008 album. I've had lots of requests for that, but so far haven't put together a video on it. You can find it on Spotify and other streaming services.
