@Jennifer Biedermann Ok, I've just got to say it... It is so awesome how many times people's last names reflect them, their personality, &/ or what they do. Jennifer "Bead"erman. That's just beyond cool! Your work is amazing too. I'm so excited to watch these videos. I'm getting up in age and beadwork is getting more challenging w vision getting crappier so I'm so psyched cuz the whole beading around a cabochon is something I've never been able to figure out on my own. Secondly, before looking this up, I kept looking at this amethyst that was a little odd shaped but still thought "this is close - I should be able to bead around it in a similar way to a cabochon." Then, the very next video down was "how to bead around odd shaped stones" or something like that. This is so synchronistic! I'm abouseletly thrilled and very grateful you took the time to make these videos! ❤

Fantastic tutorial! Using thread conditioner on fireline breaks down the components and causes dry rot. It will crumble over time. If anyone has more info, please share! I live in an area with one of the largest bead societies in the country. This is what I've learned from them.

Very nice work! I have a 45x13mm rivoli that broke on me and I’m trying to salvage it by using multiple bezeling techniques and see if I can create what’s in my head. I have a bunch of larger seed beads that I bought from someone and have no clue what size they are. I think I know which two are 15/0 and 11/0, but they still don’t seem right because everyone can pass larger threads multiple times through theirs and I’m lucky to get 3 passes without popping a bead. But thank you for this tutorial. I will now try to use this technique with larger seed beads and I’ll make another layer to cover any holes. I’m about to try and make something I haven’t seen anyone do.

Jennifer, I enjoy your videos and I can tell you are passionate about beading! I have been struggling with doing a bezel for a large Swarovski pear shaped crystal. My crystal is 40x27 mm. Is peyote stitch the best bezel technique for this crystal? Please advise how to figure out how many 11 size delicas or seed beads I need for the first peyote row. Much appreciated!

Hahaha. I hope I do too! I tried for years and always messed up when I get to the part going around the stone where it needs to be pulled in and then shrink it down again for the back, so I gave up a long time ago. But looking at my old attempts, I got re-inspired and thought why not see if someone put it on you tube and Huzzah! Here it is. I haven't watched it full through but I'm so excited to! I'm glad you were able to finally get it. Hopefully, I will get to feel the same joy and satisfaction as you! And congratulations, btw. This is exciting, indeed! 😂

Hi Jennifer, Thanks so much for the great instructions. I heard you say that you cover the entire back of a foiled cab or rivioli, I have also heard that you can coat it with clear nail polish. Is this correct?

Thanks so much for this video, I finally got peyote and its great! I do have a question though. I was trying to close the back of the rivoli and when I got through the 11's and the 15's I couldnt reduce it anymore - is there another part to reducing? I would really appreciate any replies to this reducing the back to completely cover it. Thanks again, Ellen T

You show using size 15 on the back but not on the front. When and how do you switch to doing 15s on the front? And why not from the start, so it is just one long line instead of having to backtrack, which is what I assume you have to do?
@Jenniferbiedermannjewelry8 жыл бұрын
i looked through the video and that clip of video is not there. so sorry about that. you will do the same on both sides back and front. once you have completed the 15s on one side you have to sew through the beads following your thread path the other side and add the 15s. i think i will re do this video. thank you for pointing that out.

Your instructions are great, the focus on the camera as you picked up your work blurred and really caused my eyes some distress, when on the mat, focus was great. I think you are working too close to your camera? I found if I closed my eyes and listened with an occasional view, my head didn't swim as much and I could get through it. but again, your verbal instructions and when you place the work back on the mat, it was great!
