More of that please. Something that a beginner can work on and learn. Really appreciate your understanding and patience.

SWIFTLESSONS, Listen to all the Live Cream Concerts because Clapton often plays these "rubbed blues notes" that are rubbing against another note to make a lesson about it. Clapton likes BLUESIFY the Major pentatonic box#1/Minor pentatonic box#5 by using a "house of blues shape" in each box position. Also uses the "frying Pan Shape" in each pentatonic box which you should do a lesson about the frying pan shape

Thrilling! I always try to see what I can use (only acoustic). I kinda regret I didn't get an electric guitar, but in an apartment here it's an issue. Thank you Rob, for those licks! 🎶🎶🎶

Thank you Rob for including Your gear usage...That fender super sonic is super...Can't believe you get your tone...Pedaless.

My pleasure! Yeah, that supersonic has duel overdrive knobs, allowing you to blend and dial in the character and exact amount of gain you desire. The reverb is pretty fantastic as well.

*Rob -- Can you give me a quick way of knowing or 'finding' - where the Root Note is for every scale that I want to learn?* *( This has been 'bugging me' for a long time! )* *Surely there must be a shortcut to easily finding the Root Note -- for every scale?* *Also - Would you say that the Stratocaster was or is always superior to the Telecaster in terms of sound or easier to play?* *Because Keith Richards makes the Telecaster sound si sweet with the different tunings he uses!* *And in one video he boasts of only using 'Five Strings! -- to get that Sones blues sou d for some of their songs!* *Finally -- price differences between the Strat and Telecaster.* - *Is there really much difference in their prices?* *( Thank you for your advice! - Loved the blues licks lesson.)*

I found Learning the notes on the low E & A strings. Then learn the octave/ unison pattern. Then If you know where 1 root note is you can find all the others

That E cord is quiet a stretch. But good to know. Thanks

Yes it is! Luckily, this shape is primarily for visualization purposes. In my experience, very few players use C and G shape barre chords.

What chord progression would these licks be good to practice over ? Thanks , nice 👍🏼
@swiftlessons19 күн бұрын
These are applicable over a range of chord progressions, but the most common would be a 1.4.5 blues in E.

@swiftlessons Could you please teach us how to play the guitar licks by Joe Walsh on Andy Gibb’s 1977 hit “(Love Is) Thicker Than Water”?? There are no tutorial vids on YT of that song..

Heads up, i believe elixer strings may be coated with gore-tex coating, which, I believe is classified as a PFAS chemical, a known carcinogen. Touching those strings should certainly help you play the blues.

Oh geez, that’s concerning. I’ll look into it!

From what I’m reading, the strings are coated with PTFE, which is said to be inert and nontoxic. I did some research on that a while back and I remember the only concern for PTFE is when they used in cookware and heated passed a certain temperature threshold. I’m gunna try and get a direct statement from the brand.
