If you've ever wished you could decipher Medieval texts, this intensive short course in Latin European Medieval Palaeography is for you. It offers a fascinating overview of the key scripts of the Latin European Middle Ages and a window to the latest Digital Humanities projects in palaeography.
Designed by experts from our Institute of Medieval and Early Modern Studies, the course gives a skills-based, rigorous, contextualised and complete overview of the key Latin scripts of the European Middle Ages. It is two weeks, full-time, with several start dates to choose from over the coming months. Many of the texts discussed will be from Durham University's world-renowned collections.
The course has a blend of learning materials that can be viewed at your own pace and daily live sessions via Zoom where you can meet your peers and receive expert answers to your questions.
