Relationship with Jesus Christ is all about His acceptance for His children. Its not based on any set of principles or rules. I haven't seen Jesus judging any sinner in His lifetime. He accepted them and changed them with His love. That change occurs in the hearts and minds where a person starts living a new life, a life of righteousness and love.
