I remember watching Gregg Bissonette on VHS for the first time in a Russian jazz school back in 1998. He has always been a true pro and still is my favorite videoschool guy amongst others of that time like Dave Weckl, Dennis Chambers, Omar Hakim etc. It was so cool to see a guy with such versatile way of playing, like some cool punk hippie guy with crazy drum abilities in almost every genre. I've been a GB fan since I first heard Eat Em & Smile. Back then there was no KZbin, so all I could do was try to listen to albums he played on and read articles about him. Fast-forward these many years and we're all able to dial up any and all things Gregg Bissonette anytime anywhere. He's so fun to watch and can play any style. No one ever mentions that he can sing, but he can do that, too--as evidenced by the intro track on this video!

OK. Ready for part 2! I saw Greg at a clinic about 20 years ago. An example he gave with playing to different styles was simply playing along to songs on the radio and start switching stations and play to whatever comes up. But you have to love all music.
