Cheers Justin, I haven't been able to fly the 110 since the adjusted FM...but I know you're a bit of an experten on it so I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on it. I hope we get back to flying too...I haven't touched an airplane since March 30th, but I did take April off and am taking June off too...It does seem like we're adding some flights though, so hopefully that trend keeps going. Stay healthy up there mate!

My instructors instructor flew those birds. When I ask him about Yak3 and Yak9, he always talks about Yak3 as phenomenal airplane, very light on controls as opposite to Yak9 where he had to help himself with the legs to pull the stick back when exiting the dive. Because of that, when familiarizing with Yak3 after flying Yak9 you could easily cause accelerated stall.

I should add that the man flew (if we focus on "famous" aircraft): yaks, sabres, thunderjets and finally the migs. He says that in russian airplanes you were used to noise, heat, rattle and smoke, and when he first sat in sabre, it was quiet like in office and even had air conditioning. He is walking 1st hand encyclopedia :D

Can we see your flight sim rig? I’m currently building mine and how you have your keybindings set because I’m trying to figure out how to bind those extra controls like oil/water radiator percentage etc.... and if you’re curious what I’m running with: Saitek Yoke with control panel, Saitek Pedals, 3 throttle quadrants *for Ju-52*, Saitek Programmable keypad, and TrackIR5.

Currently working on this one for a custom LIB in Janes Fighters Anthology. My current version is a bloody UFO, outmaneuvers everything but an F-22...certainly none of the other Korean War-era jets I made can consistently beat it (consistently, mind you--I HAVE beaten it, but the process is exhausting).

But, I fly this aircraft in IL2 1946. The fuel guage is not present on the outside of the wing. Where is it?

question, that red lever on the center left, if I press the bound 'reload' key that lever moves, but nothing seems to happen. I have found this to be true in some other planes too and don't understand. Is the 110 the only plane that can actually reload in this way?

Yeah the 110 is the only airplane (other than gunner positions) where that key will reload ammo in flight. In other cases it would clear a jam I think although that's not modeled

Correct, you press CTRL+R and record the flight. Then you can replay the track later to watch from different views.

Perhaps some of this was done exceptionally quickly by pilots trained enough to do it as a matter of instinct, but going through all these procedures in an emergency scramble? Say, if an incoming raid was approaching?

With pilots there are many emergency procedures practiced and studied so they can be recalled by memory, so if you had to scramble you would be doing these as fast as possible.

Where are you finding these checklists? Have I missed them?

For the Russian airplanes I make them up myself based on what I know as a RL pilot if I don't have a manual for a particular airplane. The Russian stuff is really hard for me to find anything to go on. American, British, and German is much simpler because I have plenty of references for those.

How much difference in accuracy is there between a metal gunsight and a reflector?

The sight should be the exact same dimensions, so the accuracy won't be change, but to be accurate using the metal sight your view needs to be lined up precisely in the middle (unlike the reflector).
