I first put a comment on one of your videos many years ago thanking you for teaching me how to French polish. Now I have restored many antiques and I know you can't teach every method but that first plunge into French polishing has bloomed into wood replacing, veneers, inlays, micro mosaics and many obscure techniques that once done are invisible restorations using the same materials and processes as when they were first made. Your videos have helped save 100's of antiques with me alone, just think how many have been saved in total.......Thank you

I will always be grateful for your wonderful videos which both teach and entertain. I had bought a Georgian chest of drawers with severely damaged polish. Thanks to you it now looks beautiful. After that I polished everything in the house - Georgian chairs, various tables, old chest, long case clocks ... I even french polish new pieces. Thank you. I could be tempted by your course but I have run out of stuff to polish! Best wishes. Mike

This is a brilliant initiative, Rob. There’s nothing like learning beside a master. I did a course in Australia years ago, but I have learned so much more from your videos. I’m now working on a magnificent table made from Australian red cedar - the most beautiful furniture timber imaginable. It’s suffered some serious damage in its life (which dates back to the mid-nineteenth century at least. I hope I can do it justice, repairing its broken joints and refreshing its surface without damaging its patina.

Hi Robert, I’ve been following you and have watched all of your videos. Many thanks for the clear instruction methods. I may well join you in one of your classes on French Polishing. In the meantime, could you tell me at what point in the polishing procedure you would/could apply stain to darken a surface, please? Many thanks Rick

Please consider making some short instructional videos as you are doing your classes or just you working on individual pieces. Prep to finish. Talking is good this is a fine art and the more you talk the more you teach us what your thinking😉👍😂

Have you tried “french polishing” waterborne finishes? I’ve had some success with it.

If only I was only 250 miles away! I’d be there in a heartbeat. It’s a bit harder from the antipodes. I so wish I could spend a few days with Robby.
