I fucking love this dude, makes me feel like I'm in high school again. The targeted name calling mid lesson is my favorite cuz that used to always be me. "so what were going to do here ALEX is take the radius..."

Your class lectures are helping me to learn material and teach my sons here in New Jersey. Do you have a patreon account or post office box where I can mail you a gift card? I'm very grateful for what you are doing.

What if the end points are given and an equation of the line? What formula do you use?
@samuelhabtamu65313 жыл бұрын
Just solve for 'r'

2:55 how did he solve that, i don`t get it
@Algebrainiac2 жыл бұрын
He used the midpoint formula to find the midpoint of the two points (7,6) and (-1,-8)
@mannycasanova55062 жыл бұрын
He found the distance at the end, not the radius. r is half of square root of 65.
@midnightmathtutor3597 Жыл бұрын
He did the distance from the center point to an end point, so it is the radius:)

Couldnt you have, once you found center (h,k), just picked one of the two points on the circle and use that x and y and plug it right into the standard form equation of a circle and solve for r? For example, using the point (7,6): r^2 = (7-3)^2 + (6-(-1))^2 r^2= 16 + 49 r^2= 65 r= 65^1/2 So then r would equal the square root of 65.

What if there's three given endpoints?

What if the given endpoints are fractions? (9/2, 4) (-3/2, -2)?
@rainbowmathnotesandexample8724 Жыл бұрын
To find midpoint, add x values and divide by 2, then add y values and divide by 2. 9/2 + -3/2 = 6/2 = 3 Divide that by 2 and you midpoint x value is 3/2. The y value is easier.... it is 1. Midpoint is therefore (3/2, 1)

Is it always should be square root of 65?
@shreeshagrawal57924 жыл бұрын
given the question, it would always be root 65 for r. it doesnt matter which two point you chose to get that provided one was the centre point and the other is a point on the diameter
