It’s the art of getting a computer to do something that it wasn’t necessarily designed to do.
One of the best places to learn ethical hacking is a company called Hack The Box.
I've been a fan of Hack The Box for a while now and I'm excited to be working with them.
If you have been in the security industry for any amount of time, you have probably heard of Hack The Box. They provide a place where you can start trying to hack into computer systems in a safe and importantly, a legal way.
It’s really simple to use and everything is gamified which keeps everything fun, interesting and most of all keeps you motivated.
You can sign up for free and start trying to hack your way into the target computers straight away.
Unless you know what you’re doing though, you’ll end up like me all those years ago, getting stuck and eventually giving up.
For exactly that reason, HackTheBox built their training Acadamy. Here you can get real, hands-on training that will take you from almost zero to hacking into machines in no time at all. It’s completely browser-based and you can get started for absolutely free.

I heard about cyber security during covid. I started a degree in cyber security and quit 3 weeks later. Instead, I taught myself for free online and had a job by the end of the year. People don't believe me that I started on $100k with no qualifications as a penetration tester, but its true. I never had any IT or computer experience before I started learning. I have offered to teach people everything in a 3 month intensive course but I realised how hard it is to tell someone they can have a job with $100k without any qualifications, they just dont want to know or believe its true. I'm now in my second year and on $140k An entire career in 3 months... I have qualifications now btw. The company I work for paid for any certifications I wanted.

I can't even describe how accurate this story is compared to mine. I also had the problem with backtrack 5 XD I know how to do basic commands like ls or cd but man it was hard to launch a dos attack XD

im a little confused with the cubes. lets say i finish all tier 0 and tier 1 modules and wanna start on tier 2 modules but i dont have enough cubes. i get a monthly silver plan which means i can only unlock 1 tier 2 module every month since it gives me 200 cubes. i feel like a lot of time passes by the time i can do another module. this is even worse the higher the tier goes

Education is never expensive, once you learn something you'll carry it for life. Now is this type of education with a beautiful and well illustrated course worth it for you or not, is up to you! But for what you get this is totally worth it! Think of it as someone needs to pay for those servers, the amount of time spent to create such courses, the amount of energy from a designer to design these interfaces, the test environments at your disposition! I find it cheap!

NICE! This is what i try to find, codeacademy but for pentest and this seems to be even better. Only the pricing.. but at least you have some for free
