Thank you! I will add this to my practice regime. I do enjoy your coaching videos. I've found many drills that I thought would be easy, exceedingly hard to do consistently. In addition to feeling entirely inadequate, it's a good way to improve one's game :)

You are most welcome. Certainly no need to feel inadequate! Many drills seem easy for a few shots - it's the ability to do them for longer that really counts. Keep up the hard work!

Thank you Mr Squah :) I'm just about to go for my first proper lessons. Love and have played lots of sports in the past but just taking up tennis and squash now. I'm going to try to find squash balls today and go for my first solo practice. I feel I'll have the phone out looking at these :) thank you!

You are most welcome. Great to hear that you have just starting tennis and squash, although starting both at the same time will be a challenge because they have such different technique - it would be like starting to learn guitar and also learning piano at the same time. Anyway, this particular video is not for beginners, but I do have a dedicated series/playlist called "Squash for Beginners" that is more suited to your situation. I'll be adding lots more videos to the series very soon. Please make sure you buy a red dot ball and maybe a single yellow dot. Start practicing with the red dot. Good luck and let me know if you have ANY questions about squash.

Thank you. That was a great video. I have been playing for 2 years (5 times a day) without any training drills. Not I feel I have plateau my game. Some things need to be fix. Do you have a video with a list of drills, I can try at my level. I am struggling with a starting point. Happy you jump on a zoom call and pay you for your time.

Hello, I am glad to hear you liked the video. I don't have a list of drills because it's not an objective list. The types of drills people need depend on their current skills, objectives and other factors. I do offer a video chat service and also an analysis service. For details can be found here: bettersquash.com/services.html If you have any questions or doubts, feel free to email me: phillip@bettersquash.com

Hi! Very helpful video. Could you say what type of balls do you use for training? Your balls jump very quickly and easily.
@BetterSquash
@BetterSquash 7 ай бұрын
Glad to hear you feel it is helpful. I use double yellow dot balls when I practice, but what I use is not important. Try a red dot and if that is too bouncy, try a single yellow dot. Remember, use the ball that makes squash the most fun, even in practice. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Phil! Once again, thank you for a superb coaching matherial! Is it possiblem that you redo the sheets to have them with white background? My printer prints it ugly gray :) Thanks!

EDIT: I have updated this poster to have a white background. The main text is now blue to ensure it's the new version. Hello, thank you for your kind words about the video. I will look to see if I still have the source files for the posters. It's been a while since I created them. From now on I will ensure the background is completely white and I will try to update the older posters. Have you tried printing in black and white?

Whats a good racket for a club player, which will be forgiving for poor shots etc
@BetterSquash
@BetterSquash Жыл бұрын
I have not used any of this or last year's rackets, so can't really say. I will tell you that there is no one racket "for club players that will be forgiving for poor shots". What's important is finding a racket whose weight, balance and general feeling feel good for you. The solution to poor shots is not a racket, but better technique.

In my weekly games with friends we allocate some time to drive the ball in a queue. I am quite frustrated that I fail to return the ball consistently

Thanks, very good tips, control is about hitting at the right angles as you said. Why the mask though?

I would love to hear the science behind wearing a mask in an empty squash court. Not sure who you're protecting Or are protected from there, old mate.

The rules of the facility where I record required everybody who entered said facility to wear a mask.
