How did you let let such a seemingly small funderbunk test give you the urge quit, three balls down , and let samson little stinky mess make you less of a person. Good to know you started your day right by completing this movement.

I think your tutorials are pretty valuable, not only to the for jugglers that learn the patterns but also for jugglers who do tutorials. As someone trying to learn the secrets of video editing this is also a tutorial for me. The Animation at the beginnig is awesome the colour choice/ size of the balls is on point, the transitions and sound effects, the composition of the scene...i could go on forever. This is a blue print for a tutorial on any skill and im thankful it exists.

You actually taught me how to do 3 ball cascade, and soon the Mills Mess
@goetzvonb1234 жыл бұрын
Well done. The lesson really only begins after you learned how to teach yourself. To know how to learn is the difference between a beginner and an apprentice. Juggling is a great tool for this process and contains real life lessons. If you face a big challenge - divide it into small challenges - practice the ones that you can´t do already - practice the transitions - bring it all together. Never give up - succeed eventually (one was or the other)! Basically analyze the way she is teaching and ask yourself why it works. I hope this perspective is helpfull and encouraging even if it is presented so short and dry in a youtube comment. :-)

Many many years ago, I attached ribbons to some juggling balls, so that when I juggled them in a cascade, the ribbons would braid -- or when I juggled a reverse cascade, they would braid in the other direction. Just for kicks, I tried mills mess... and *THE RIBBONS DIDN"T BRAID*. The crossing and un-crossing of hands unbraids the pattern exactly as fast as the underlying cascade pattern braids them. Blew. My. Mind.

Yeah, I don't know how some jugglers claim this one is "basic" or easy. This was one of the toughest patterns for me to learn. My experiences: 1. Focus on all throws to going to the same place... to the center. When you are in the midst of the pattern during the panic phase and wondering what to do next, fall back on this golden rule. 2. The cross throw @3:48 is counter-intuitive and took up most of my concentration when learning. Reverse cascade with one ball going under is NOT Mill's Mess (2 of the 3 throws are but starting there could result in a bad habit). 3. To learn, throw high (top of head or higher) so you have a half second to think. This is probably the #1 tip that got me through it. 4. Taylor's combination @8:30 is crucial. Get this down. (Left 1, 2, 3, stop, then Right, 1, 2, 3, stop). Next you have stop stopping and figure out the #4 throw (which is simply the opposite #1). Get to the point where you can catch the #4. Getting past this barrier was a point of great frustration, but here's the thing: Once you move on to #5 throw, the juggler's brain kicks in and it started working. Thanks Taylor for this video. This is the best MM tutorial on KZbin.

I think of it as juggling with my arms crossed and then changing which crossed arm is on top. So you juggle arms crossed left on top, uncross arms, arms crossed right on top, uncross arms. Repeat until you drop one or get bored.

I wish I had a tutorial like this when I was learning Mills Mess! The way I learned it back in about 2003 was I downloaded a program that simulated various juggling throws/patterns, and I just stared at, and studied, the simulation for HOURS trying to understand what each ball was doing and how to get my hands and arms to do what the completely 2D stick figure simulation was doing. Anyway, it took a few days for me to even learn the pattern and work on executing it without dropping every cycle. But I love it, it's my favorite 3 ball juggling trick to bust out, because it always gets a fun reaction from people when they see it! Good video!
