I just use latex/acrylic house paint for all my murals and cheap brushes you can buy at Home Depot or Lowes. They are usually on the bottom shelf and run buck or two a piece. You can also stop by Michael's for some cheap, smaller brushes that come in 10 packs for $4.99.

I've always been 'talented' but I also got a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree. Even after that I wasn't very good in my opinion, but doing it 8 hours a day 5 days a week for the past ten years seemed to help :)

Yep, just regular wall paint. For this one I was using Valspar Duramax Ultra from Lowes... but any high quality acrylic house paint will work just as well. Dunn Edwards offers the Suprema line and the Evershield line that are fantastic. Home Depot also will have something comprable. It saves a ton of money on paint and you can buy in quarts or gallons depending on how much your are painting.
