Hello! 😍 Here I start with a new series on playing specific gospel & worship songs on the cajon. In this lesson we learn how to play 'The old rugged cross', one of my favourite old gospel songs. Do you have any requests for gospel or worship, or any other style songs that you want to learn? Comment down below and let me know!

Good Morning Heidi, Most of the churches I hear are doing more contemporary christian music along with the old music. Could you look at some Chris Tomlin Songs or Casting crowns really any of the contemporary groups. Thanks. I love your lessons. I built my own Cajon several years ago and sometimes I take time to play along. Thanks for what you do. God Bless.

I am sorry for your loss but it is wonderful knowing your Grand Dad is with Jesus and that he has gifted your family with the knowledge of Christ. I have been learning from your videos for years this is the best you have ever broken it down and simplified your technique. "If you can't play it slow you cant play it properly" such a great truth that one will stick with me as well as the technique. I would really love to hear you teach modern praise and worship songs as well. Thank you for what you do keep going you are appreciated!

And yes yes yes, there will DEFINITELY be loads more lessons on worship songs, the whole point is to serve beautiful people such as yourself, who in turn will use it to serve and bless others and worhsip the Greatest King ever. Thanks for your msg, it really is encouraging. I'll be making a new video lesson roughly every week (aiming for 2 a week in future) so yes, much to learn! Big hug and biggest blessings!

Heidi, so sorry for the loss of your granddad. My thoughts and prayers for your growing comfort, peace and hope of a joyful reunion. I know that song well, as it was a congregational favorite at the small country church where I attended as a child, sitting on the same pew as my grandparents. Classic. Well done. Scott.

Thank you. It was quite an honour to do this, I had planned to do a worship lesson for a while, and then my grandad passed, and I changed the initial song I had in mind to this one, I was inspired. Sometimes we all need a push to get doing what we know we should. Funny how somehow my grandad gave me the push even after he had passed on. Life is interesting. It is also very sad, but at the same time, I know I will see him again, and he will be perfect and without pain, so it really is a celebration... Nonetheless, I will miss him. Big thanks for your comment.

Heidi, you never disappoint us with your ability to teach us something and share your gifts with us. I feel your pain and send hugs, happy wishes and all of the nice things that we wish we could send you. Most people would probably not had the courage to make something good out of something that is so bad. We owe so much to your grandparents and what you have done here would have been lost in time if it was only performed to the people that were at the funeral. What you have done here is truly exceptional and (at time of writing) has no doubt touched more than 4000 people. You have not only shared your love (and your pain) but you have given your grandparents a form of Earthly immortality because it's online, it can be shared. If you have a good collection of photographs, you could make a musical montage with your favourite video editing tool - and I am sure your family would love it if you used this as the soundtrack. You have shared a very intimate moment and I have no doubt in my mind that everybody that has seen this from start to finish is extremely proud of you. Peace, love, hugs and wishes for happiness to you... Tony

Heidi, I really like the tone you get out of your cajon, which I think has a lot to do with your hand technique. You sound way better than many other serious cajon players, thats my humble opinion. I’m adjusting my cajon hits with your technique/hand movements as guide! You’re awesome!
