I actually didn’t know you can drift on the sidewalk near the end. That’s good to know. The first section is daunting, but that’s the only big hurdle on this track. Even the sidesteppers and the oil rigs are predicable enough to react to.

I so agree. I was raised in LA. I would have expected perhaps a race from Griffith Observatory to Hollywood then Downtown LA then the beach.

honestly i think LA laps does a great job of capturing the aesthetics. Maybe they coulda done more w santa monica pier and have u drive down it further or something but i remember driving the track for the first time and feeling like i was in gta V lol also the rodeo drive shopping center during lap 2 could not be more spot on especially the entrance! Maybe im just a fan of the 2008 remake of 90210 lol but i think nintendo always does a pretty good job at getting the details right w their city tour tracks.

It’s a cool track to select online if you’re (upper) mid spots. The strat is to try and get shrooms and shortcut through the sand patches. If you have good lines then you can front run the rest.

I see what you mean about the feel of LA. No section on the 405 or the LA Cienega pass. Aside from the Santa Monica Pier and the Getty in the background you couldn't tell where this is. The skate park of Venice Beach? Meh. I'd have loved another airport scramble like Sunshine Airport only landing on the Encounter restaurant or a climb up to the Hollywood sign just to have a glide section down to Rodeo Dr. And I'd definitely would have used Sydney Sprints music for this course. That has a LA beach vibe.

Silly question: what is a “mini-turbo trick”? Is it releasing a MT just before tricking? Or is there a specific way to trick and release the MT at the exact same time?

It’s just releasing your MT when you trick. It’s not exact, and I think as long as your mini turbo boost is still going when you trick it should work.

I've never been to LA, but yeah it's kinda a shame that the track doesn't capture the city for you, or other people from there. Stuff like London Loop captures the city perfectly so it's weird how this one doesn't. I do really like the track though, it's my favourite city from Wave 5. It's nothing exceptional, I just like the vibe and how it plays, and unlike Vancouver and Athens there isn't anything about it that specifically annoys me despite the track design itself being less interesting then both of those two. Just one quick feedback on the video- I notice how in some less-interesting sections you skip forward to talk about the next interesting bit, but I find that really hard to follow, so I personally feel like going over those sections (but not going into much detail, just like, do a few drifts here, it's pretty simple) would help. I feel this is especially true for the start of section 3, since there's a split path you glossed over and it might be a bit confusing to someone who didn't already know what path they should take. I do get that it's to make the video more concise since section tracks generally take 3x as long to cover then the lap-based tracks, but it's just something that made the video harder to follow for me.

Yeah I agree the pacing on this one is a bit off but unfortunately I only discovered this after getting all the audio recorded and what not so couldn’t do much to fix it without redoing everything :-/
