This is hands down the most in depth online lesson I have had! The way you break everything down and build it up is great. Certainly with this song you are spot on with all the nuances. You deserve a lot more subs and views! Only criticism is it can be hard to concentrate because you are absolutely stunning and your facial expressions and manorisms are hypnotising.

Here is how Wendy Malvoin, who came up with the intro. riff, and played it on the recording, plays her intro. to 'My Favorite Mistake' kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnfCeotql51or5o It is also worth noting that for players with smaller hands (like Wendy), you can bar the chord with your first finger, rather than trying to reach over the top to fret the low E string with one's thumb.

I was fortunate enough to see Sheryl Crow on her Wildflower tour and she stopped in to the Ford Idaho Center, this was at the same time she just got married to Lance Armstrong. Little did those of us in the audience know that near the end of the show, she'd bring out Lance Armstrong and a good friend of his who'd been at their Sun Valley, ID wedding. None other than Robin Williams (RIP) shuffled out onstage and he and Armstrong started dancing around Sheryl Crow and joking with her and the rest of the band. Crow laughed so hard at their antics, she stopped and had to re start the song Everyday is A Winding Road. When she halted the band and restarted it, Williams and Armstrong high fived and ran offstage waving to the crowd and both laughing.

Hi Angela , I would like to thank you for the efforts you put into your tutorials , great song choices. “ My favourite mistake “ is an all time favourite ( fabulous timing and swagger, like it’s both rhythm and lead ) After looking at three of your presentations I subscribed, your approach to breaking the sections down and your attention to detail is fabulous. But I gotta say I find myself watching you more then the actual technique, it’s because you just burst with joy and passion in what your doing! It’s wonderful to see , keep it up ! Now I gotta focus on those hands ! 😂😂😀

I literally just watched you demo a nice 56 CS strat at Normans and you mentioned & played this song with such vibe I just had to look it up. It's raining and chilly here, so I'm getting fire place going, some red's and my trusty old strat. Many thanks!

Awesome lesson! Killing myself trying to get the main riff feel to flow, lol. I was flipping between your lesson and the recording, and noted 2 other details. On the Bb in the bridge the guitarist adds a C-note on the high e-string, super cool, I've never done that before. Also there's that "guitar octave" lick at the end of the chorus refrains that goes "b... d slide to e, e..."

On songs like this one where you hook your thumb over to play a note on the low E string, can you maybe also show how you'd play it without using your thumb on the low E string? I literally cannot use my thumb to do that. My hand is too small. I just have to try to barr the chord. I realize that some songs just cannot be played quite the same way without hooking the thumb over, as I've previously found out trying to learn some Hendrix and Stevie Ray.
