Thanks for making this video - appreciate the detailed presentation on the basics! Super helpful. My brothers and I collected Star Wards cards as kids but we never learned the game. I managed to convince my 9 year old son to play this weekend and we had a blast.

Thanks guys, this was great! I got rid of all my cards way back in 2004 and now I'm trading back a bunch of MTG to get back into a game this awesome game that will always have a special place in my heart!

I just found my old cards and I'm filled with nostalgia, which led me to these videos. I remember back when DS2 first came out my sister and I, who were into Pokemon at the time, decided to each buy a starter deck and give this game a try. It's a MUCH more complex game and it took us a while to get the hang of it but we ended up with a nice little collection of cards between the two of us. Definitely planning on keeping my cards as opposed to selling them. They're just a cool thing to have. Might even try playing again?

SWCCG suffered from being a bit too complicated. It’s very addictive once you figure it out but the learn curve is dense and random rules are confusing. Get back into playing! I’ve gotten back into it with my local card group. There’s definitely some growing pains but we’ve got a good crew that gets together and plays.

So my dad bought these for my brother and I over 20 years ago and it was too complicated for us to play but we collected them because of the pictures and flavor text. I just recently came across a box of these while moving and decided to pick up a starter box. Your video does a good job explaining thanks a lot. I look forward to officially learning to play and collecting some more. May the force be with you!

It’s definitely a complex game but worth learning. Coming from Magic, I find it a refreshing change to play a game with some friends. Good luck with the future games!

Great memories with this game. I didn’t play this a whole lot when I was a kid, but I had a ton of cards. The game is significantly more complicated than it probably should have been, but there’s a ton of really fun mechanics. I think the resource system is absolutely brilliant. I think this would be excellent in an LCG format.

This video is very helpful. Maybe a future video, you could do a deep dive into the battle phase itself and go through all the scenarios, battling W or W/O weapons, attrition, 1 or more battle destines, forfeiting from the battle, etc. Thanks for the content.

This is a great idea. I’ll make a note. Too many ideas, not enough time!

Just found your channel and I’m already hooked. I had the starter set of SW:CCG and for the life of me I could not figure out attrition. It seems so easy now 20 some odd years later 😂

I only played a few casual games of this when the game was already in it's death throws as a currently produced and supported game. The game was a lot of fun with a lot of strategy but can be quite complicated. The game had a somewhat complicated resorce system that was easy to misunderstand and games could be very long if one or both players don't know what they are doing.

I have these decks somewhere 🤔 😂 Loved this game back in the nineties. Played a lot of kitchen table wit my friend.

21:45 I think you only needed to forfeit the Frigate as that would have satisfied both the battle damage and attrition. The Y-Wing should have survived. Still a fun video though!

I think you are correct! That’s the problem with playing this in paper vs digital is the rules enforcement isn’t automatic, so lots of mental math

Great video, thanks. Any chance you would ever cover Decipher's other game, "Wars"? I heard you mention it in another video. I would be curious to see your take.

At 22:09 you guys said it was 7 battle damage and he had to forfeit 8 in cards. But the battle was 17 to 11, with 6 battle damage. Was there one added from an ability?
@boardmatt2 жыл бұрын
I think this might have been some bad math on the spot. Battle damage was 6. Think we just miscalculated.

Battle Order says: You may initiate a battle for Free. He does not. At first battle you have 3power for TIE fighter + 2 for Pilot (it says in text: "Add 2 to Power of anything he pilots") plus 3 for Destiny = 8.

Very informative. Thank you so much! I recently found my old collection, however due to language back in the day and lack of someone else who wanted to play I've never learned it. But now I finaly understand the battle phase, so I can ask a friend to try this out one day. THANKS AGAIN, and it would be alright to do a full game of this in the way you two play this :D one question. If you have to forfeit cards. May you only forfeit cards from the site a battle took place or was the LS player also able to forfeit his cards at bespin?
@derrickmarsh50 Жыл бұрын
At the battle. So Bespin YWing and Pilot were unavailable.
