Went from 1:57 to 1:55.057 with these strats, its not easy this course, definitely takes practice to get the clock shortcut at the end down can only do it sometimes on 3rd lap so far, thanks a lot tho, bayesic, ur course is amazing!

I used to be a speedrunner and hardcore player of mario kart wii back in my days. Played tournments and stuff. The adulthood hit hard and I never played MK anymore. Got my hands on MK lately and decided to pick randomly this track to time trial on it. It is super challenging but it gives a whole lot level of satisfaction once you really learn it. Btw thank you for these videos, I'd have killed to have such explaination back in 2010 on mario kart wii when trying to understand how to perform some shortcuts or glitches!

I remember liking this course in MKDS but it feels like a pain to drive in this game. I was wondering how to take the clock hand shortcuts too.

Been playing this track recently and my current PB is a 1:54 as I couldn't work out the best setup for the end shortcuts but this video helps massively 👌 Also when racing people, I find that this track really separates people who know it well and have time trialed it a lot vs those that haven't.

I still like this course as a retro track overall, but I oddly find it slightly more exhilarating on 200cc. Only slightly though. Thanks as always for the training!

I always get something useful from you videos, even if I don't time trial a course. This is one of the tracks I don't really like. It's hard for me to tell sometimes why I don't enjoy a track, but I seem to prefer outside courses to the inside ones, the bigger the better, except Toad Harbor. It feels too long. I still like it though. The difficulty level doesn't affect my level of enjoyment with Bowser's Castle being one of my biggest favorites in the game, but I'm getting off course here, no pun indented. Good work, man!

I probably won’t get to a full guide for a long time but after I’m done with my 150 cc series one of the things I’m going to be doing is putting together shorts for some of the more difficult strategies on each track for 200cc

It took me a good while to get a hang of this track, including the lap one ending shortcut. But once I did, I honestly have rarely done worse than top 3 in an online race unless I have very poor luck. Most people are just not THAT good at Tick Tock Clock...and for good reason I suppose 😅

I'm just curious: Why do you use a Mushroom at the very beginning? Wouldn't that cannibalize the start-up boost?
@greg15692 жыл бұрын
it does, but a mushroom is way longer so if there's no major shortcut to hit it's prolly the best choice anyway

Hey so I can't really grasp soft-drifting. Like I've seen the whole "have your joystick at a slightly less than 45 degree angle" but when I do it it just doesn't look or feel like when I watch other people. So this might be a tall order, but do you think you could do a guide to soft-drifting. I've seen your drifting video and the section on soft-drifting, but maybe you could recommend some courses to help me know when I'm doing it right? (Yes I know you left that message about mario circuit and ssc, but I can never quite do them without holding a 10 degree angle)

Is tricking off of the cogs right before the finish line really slower than just driving straight between them?
@Bayesic2 жыл бұрын
I think it's about the same as going through the middle unless you get a low trick off of them, which is really hard to do properly
@TheCurlyP2 жыл бұрын
So, what's the secret to making tricking off the cogs faster? Was that where baby daisy used the shroom as well
@Bayesic2 жыл бұрын
What do you mean? Tricking off the cogs is definitely the go to strat here cause it’s always faster haha as for how to do it its basically always stick to the right
@TheCurlyP2 жыл бұрын
@@Bayesic sorry, I meant the vertical cogs at the start finish line :) Got my time down a fair bit last night, but need to learn the clock hands cuts now
@Bayesic2 жыл бұрын
@@TheCurlyP ooooh haha. It’s basically to trick as low as possible. Should have gone over in the video but you basically need to just clip them with the corner of your kart to get a low trick, but the problem is that doing that after coming off of the shortcut is very tricky and precise
