In today’s episode of Learn to Sew with Minerva, we’re looking at a special hem finishing technique using ribbon. This couture practice will give your makes a flash of elegance, you can either co-ordinate for a subtle effect or go decorative with a contrast ribbon for fun! It’s ideal for skirts or dresses which have very little fabric left to hem, and for curved hems. This can also weight the garment to stop the hem from turning or create an invisible finish with organza ribbon for mesh or tulle fabrics.
