It is normal for a waltz clog step to be performed in a 4/4 time signature?

I believe it's traditionally taught in the a 3/4 time signature with no break in between the sides - step shuffle ball change, step shuffle ball change. I work mainly with beginner-level adults and found that's an easier step to grasp with a pause in between the sides (4/4 time signature), which is what I taught in this video. 😊💜
