Hello, thanks for the video. I am new to power apps and I have a question about the way you made the power apps. When I deleted the original gallery that created by the power apps, I found that the app lost the capability to interact with the power BI. Also, if I add another gallery and using the original data sources for the gallery, it also didn't interact with the power bi filters. Seems like the only way to make the power apps interact with the power bi is using the gallery that the power apps created for you. Do you have any solution for this situation?

@nirajjaipuria28694 жыл бұрын
Thanks for simplifying this immensely, Shane. I followed all your steps to achieve my desired output, and the PowerApps visual in PowerBI worked as expected. However, I encountered a weird problem. The PowerApps visual seemed to dynamically change in PowerBI, based on the selection of the filter, until the point when I closed the PowerApps tab in my browser. Once I close the PowerApps tab in my browser, the PowerApps visual becomes a static visual, and does not change based on the selection of the filter any more! When I am closing the PowerApps tab in my browser, it prompts that I may have unsaved changes which will be lost. I am sure I have saved the PowerApps and Published it as well (that's why it works in the PowerBI window). I CANCEL on this prompt, and go to File->SAVE in PowerApps menu, but it doesn't give me a SAVE button - implying that the app is already saved! Anything that I am missing?
@nirajjaipuria28694 жыл бұрын
UPDATE>>> Resolved the above issue! All that was needed was to close the PowerBI Report after saving it, and reloading it again. This causes the PowerApps visual to reload, and it reflects all the latest changes seamlessly! Thanks again Shane, for illustrating this so simply!

Thanks for response, I tried several times ,but didn't make it. How do I get a details screen going when I use this "PowerBiIntegration.Data" method? I've created an app within a Power Bi dashboard, it successfully syncs with Power Bi Report. However, when I go to create a "details" screen (since the auto app builder only created an app with a single screen and single gallery), I'm unable to do so. I've tried manually using "PowerBiIntegration.Data" as my data source, as an item, I've search all through the data source options, but essentially it's as if my 2nd screen is not associated with the first screen at all and I have no way of connecting the two. Any insights?

Hey Nic - I don't have time today to set it all back up to jog my memory. I will try to circle back tomorrow with you. In my head it wasn't hard but maybe I am miss-remembering. I THINK that if you look at connections it setup a connection back to your data for you. So you would have a form that uses that connection and for the item you would gallery1.selected. Does that work?

Really great videos, I've learnt a lot so far, way more than what I got from the documentation xD. Honestly Microsoft themselves couldn't explain PowerApps better than you. Just a quick question, how would you be able to find the data source that info in the CDS is coming from? I have a whole lot of entities and picklists that I can see, but I just don't know where they are coming from and I can't see any of their data either as it just constantly has the "Loading Data..." message up. It would help me so much if I could just access the data sources for these entries as I am working on some example apps for a demo to a big construction company for next week and it would really help us get the position if I can make use of the data that they already have. (Btw I have been given access to one of the Admin Microsoft of this company accounts and I am currently using it with a PowerApps Plan 2 trial to try and showcase to them what PowerApps can do. Just in case anyone thought I was doing something illegal xD.) Would really appreciate some advice as I am very confused at the moment. You might have mentioned it in a newer video, but I'm still making my way through all of them and wanted to ask before I forget.
@ShanesCows6 жыл бұрын
If you go into CDS through the admin screens you can work with the data a bit in that you can see it, export it and bulk import. Other that that there is no way to go behind the scenes with a tool like SQL Management Studio.
