Very helpful videos.. My Question: I have heard in dramas, when they see someone in good dress.. they say: çok güzel olmuş. They see by their own eyes, so why they used past tense? It’s confusing
@LearnTurkishvia3 жыл бұрын
Merhabalar. Think like when that person wore that dress in her room you were not there, you didn't see that moment. You saw later, now.

What’s the difference between gitmişim and gitmiştim?
@ozlemakguntiryaki7248 Жыл бұрын
Gitmişim: i went (but i don’t remember it or i didn’t pay attention so i’m not sure about it) Gitmiştim: i had gone (past perfect tense)

With all due respect, I'd like to tell you that when you write the word 'I' in English you must capitalize it. There are two reasons for this rule: 1) it is an English language rule 2) 'I' is the most important word for each individual (after God) in this universe. Without 'I' we don't exist; therefore, it should never be minimized, but rather CAPITALIZED!!!!!😅😅😅😅 I believe this only happens with the English language. In Spanish I am 'yo' and in Turkish 'ben': nothing extraordinary.😢

strange, but never actually thought about this before, in English, in, on, at could be used with time too. is it the same with Turkish? or you simply leave out the prepositions with time? judging from the examples in the lessons, prepositions with time don't seem to exist. like in the last sentence, i was trying to say hafta sonuda, but doesn't seem to be right.
@LearnTurkishvia2 жыл бұрын
Actually, we use prepositions with time but not in all cases. I went to Istanbul in May. = İstanbul'a mayısta gittim. I went to İstanbul at twelve o'clock = İstanbul'a saat on ikide gittim. I went to Istanbul last night = Geçen gece İstanbul'a gittim. I went to İstanbul in the weekend = İstanbul'a haftasonu gittim.

@@LearnTurkishvia are there specific rules for that, just wondering?
@LearnTurkishvia2 жыл бұрын
@@franceskan6860 Yes, there are a few rules. Basically, either we use no suffix or we use the suffixes "-de, - da" or "-leyin".
@franceskan68602 жыл бұрын
@@LearnTurkishvia but when to use and when not to use suffixes though?
@LearnTurkishvia2 жыл бұрын
@@franceskan6860 It's too long to explain it here. I need to make a video lesson about it soon.

Merhaba Hocam, I am taking your classes and understand what you taught but the issue how to speak fluently and understand when someone is speaking. Kindly suggest something.
@LearnTurkishvia2 жыл бұрын
Merhabalar. In order to improve your speaking and listening skills you can follow the tips below: 1- Choose a topic and talk about it to the wall as if you are talking to a person. 2- Record yourself speaking and listen afterwards to see your strong and weak points. 3- Watch Turkish series or programs with Turkish subtitles and repeat what you hear while watching. 4- Find some friends to practice with. Başarılar 👍
